| The Power of God in an Instant! |
| Acts 28:1-6 records an incident in which the Apostle Paul needed the Power of God in an instant. When that snake attached itself to Paul's hand, he didn't have time or the opportunity to pray a long drawn-out prayer. The Bible doesn't record that he said anything at all. Paul shook the problem from him and then went on with the process of living. What about us? What is keeping the instantaneous Power of God from working in our lives? Could it be that we are not in right-relationship with Him? Could it be that our prayer-life isn't what it should be? Could it be that we really don't know Him like we should? Could it be that we just don't believe it can happen for us? Whatever the case may be, God's Power is available to us, even in an instant. He is waiting for us to take our rightful place in Him so that He can manifest it to us and in us. God said that once we received the Holy Ghost, we would have Power. Did God lie? Was He just pulling our leg? Did He say that just to have something to say? Did Paul have a different Holy Ghost than what is available to us today? I think not!!! The problem is within us. Paul believed God! Paul took God at His Word. God gave and Paul received. Have you ever been given a gift that you just refused to open? No... then what are you waiting for? |
