Welcome, So what are our billion points of light? What is our VISION THING? Hopefully the title grabbed you, and as a fan of alternative culture you’re no doubt curious (We hope Mr Eldritch won’t mind the use of the title, but it is used out of respect rather than imitation). ‘Vision Thing’- it’s the title of a Sisters Of Mercy song, hence this has got to be some kind of Sisters site, right? No, not quite. Your writers are devotees of all the great underground bands of the last twenty years (The Sisters, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, The Cure and Nine Inch Nails to name but a few) and there will no doubt be many an article on such alternative heroes, but the main focus of these pages will be the music of the future. We don’t need to tell you that we live in drip fed times. The mainstream media embraces the most lumpen youth culture in history and it’s dumbed down ethics, with even the contents of the supposed ‘serious’ music papers being no different to the woeful pap that clutters up the teen press. Hence, maybe more than ever, it’s difficult for an artist with something fresh and original to offer to get their voice heard in a world that is convinced it knows better and refuses to listen. We hope that these pages will become a forum for all sorts of new and exciting music. Please feel free to contact the artists at the addresses given. Additionally we will be featuring pieces on any books, films or theatre that we feel will be of interest.
