Author’s Notes: This game is
a lot of fun, but likely wouldn’t work in Japanese. Suspended-disbelief, okay?
“Alright!” Juken jumped up and clapped his hands together. “We’re going to play a game now.”
Ryu looked up at the younger man and arched an
eyebrow. “A game?” He sounded less than impressed.
“Yes, a game. A guessing game.”
“What kind of guessing game?”
Gackt asked from his place sitting cross-legged on the desk, momentarily
interrupting his conversation with Cha.
“Well…what’s going to happen
is that a group of us is going to come up with a story and two people are going
to be sent out of the room. When they come back in, they have to guess
what the story was about.”
“Ah.” The vocalist seemed to ponder the set up for
a bit before looking down at his counterpart.
“Did we have anything more important to do tonight?”
Cha rubbed at his eyes and
shook his head. “Not really, no.”
“Alright, we’re in,” the
other man smiled. “What now?”
“I think you and Cha should
be the ones to leave the room,” You piped up from the couch. “Give us little people a fighting chance and
all.”
Cha sighed and stood,
grabbing Gackt’s wrist and tugging him towards the
door. “Someone come get us when you’re
done memorizing this thing, okay?”
Once the door closed and
locked, Juken turned to those still in the room. “Okay, here are the rules. They’re going to ask yes or no
questions. If the question ends in a
consonant, you answer ‘yes.’ If the
question ends in a vowel, you answer ‘no.’ If the question ends in a ‘y’ you
answer, ‘maybe.’ You guys got it?”
After a couple more minutes
of explanation and verification, the two producers were lead back into the
room.
“Only ask yes or no
questions, okay?”
Cha pouted but nodded. “And we’re trying to figure out a story you
guys came up with?”
“Yes,” the other men in the
room replied in unison before grinning at each other.
“I guess that means we’ve
started,” Gackt muttered. “Do we have to
ask certain questions to certain people or can we just ask questions?”
“You can just ask
questions. Someone will answer you,”
Juken answered.
“Alright. Um…” Gackt trailed off and worried his lower lip
before continuing. “This story, am I in
it?”
“Yes.”
“Awesome.”
“Am I in it?” Cha piped up
beside him, not willing to be outdone.
“Yes.”
“Ha!”
“Am I the hero?” Gackt asked.
“No.”
“Am I the villain?”
“Yes.”
Cha started to chuckle.
“Is Cha the villain?”
“Yes.”
Now it was Gackt’s turn to laugh as the short guitarist’s jaw dropped and he made a noise that sounded like an offended squeak. “I see how it is,” Cha muttered sourly as he tried and failed to hide the smirk peaking out at the corners of his mouth.
