Sunsets and You
The sun is setting behind
A veil of crimson and cobalt blue.
And gray and black streaks
Scintillate as the sun is consumed.
Night closes in and as it blankets
My world from view.
My spirit transcends the tasks of the day
And it's consumed in you.

Your face so clear before me
Though my eyes are closed in rest.
Your body warm beside me
And I think of how I'm blessed.
Sleep closes in and envelopes
My days regrets, and I dream
Our love lights up the world,
As out voices sing duets.

They sing duets of joy and love
And ever being near.
They sing duets of spirits joined
Which banish all the fear.
Of living life alone inside
A shell of crimson hue.
I'll never be alone my dear
As long as there is you.
