The following are some piano
pieces that I have composed. You must
have a media player that is able to play Midi files in order to listen to
them. The songs have been recorded
using Anvil Studio (found on my Music Links
page). Don’t bother converting the
files into readable music scores: they were recorded as live performance
pieces; hence I did not pay attention to how they would read and print as
scores.
This piece was inspired by Peter Carey’s book. It takes place in New South Wales in the
middle of the 19th century.
The opening of my song sketches out the untamed wild of the
landscape. The middle is an expression
and expansion of the love between the two eccentric characters. The last little bit is a musical reference
to a Prince Rupert’s drop. (You’ll have
to read the book to find out what I mean.)
This short little ditty captures, I hope, the impish movements
of mischievous elves dancing in the forest under the full moon.
This piece is meant to be played immediately after The Elves’
Midnight Dance as a mini-suite. It
serves as a homey, warm contrast to the rhythmically strong Dance.
