| The History of "High Street" |
| The High Street Pizza Parlour was a home to many people for over 40 years. After purchasing the house the Parlour owners completely remodeled the home, using some of the original materials. The bricks in the wall by the ovens are from the original chimney. And, if you'll notice, the tables, stage floor, and the serving counter are bowling alley lanes. The lanes are from the Brookside Bowl in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The bowling alley was the scene of a major fire and the lanes were some of the only salvageable materials left. Originally, a group of friends owned High Street Pizza, each having an equal part in the endeavor. Remodeling the place, "with a lot of help from our friends", was lottsa fun and hard work. Much of the wood at High Street Pizza was grown locally, such as the walnut beams.....They are from trees that once stood where Sardis Lake, near Clayton, Oklahoma, is now. The cedar came from a sawmill in Nashoba, Oklahoma. Much of the art work and pottery you'll see was made by the orginal owners or by local folks. Since 1982, High Street Pizza has offered real Old-Fashioned quality for our customers. Our food is fresh, wholesome, and made on the premises, with only the highest quality ingredients. The sauces, salads, dough and dressings are our original recipes. All of our breads, sauces, dressings and desserts are homemade. We want you to feel at home here, receive excellent service and delicious food at reasonable prices. The staff at High Street Pizza would like for you to share any suggestions you may have. We are proud of the community in Antlers, and hope that you will return often. |
