This is how the King of Rock and Roll’s life all began.

Gladus,Elvis and Vernon

Twin boys were born to Vernon and Gladys Presley, in Tupelo, MS on January 8,1935. Elvis Aaron , and Jesse Garon. Unfortunately, though, Jesse was still born, leaving his brother Elvis to grow up as an only child.

Elvis and his parents moved to Memphis, TN in 1948. He graduated from Humes High School in 1953. There were many things that influenced Elvis. Though there was the pop, and country music, there was also that of the church and gospel
aspect. That was what he heard on Beale St. in Memphis, as a teenager.

In 1954 began his singing career with the legendary Sun Records label, there in Memphis. His contract was soon sold to RCA,in 1955. Elvis and his band traveled around the local areas, performing in the early days. Although by 1956, Elvis was a
one man  international singing sensation. What Elvis was doing, brought in a new era of popular American music, that has changed the music industry forever.

Elvis has appeared in 33 films. He has made history with his television appearances, and specials, throughout the years. One appearance in particular was a ground breaking experience. That experience was when Elvis appeared o the Ed Suillivan
Show. Elvis went on to have record breaking live concert appearance, and his famous shows in Las Vegas. Globally, Elvis has sold over one billion records.  His American sales earned him gold, platinum, and mutiplatinum awards for 111 different
albums, and singles.

At the age of 36, he won the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, from the  National Academy of  Recording Arts and Sciences. In 1970 Elvis was named  one of the Top 10 Outstanding Young Men of the Nation, by the United States Jaycees.
Elvis’s talent, carisma, sensuality, good looks, and good humor endeared his to the hearts of of millions of  fans across the globe. Even today, where we almost into the 21st century,  Elvis is known by millions. Those youthful, and spirited souls from

the “Elvis Era” have passed the memory, and the love of Elvis on to their children, for them to enjoy.  Not only was Elvis know for his music, and his good looks, but his human kindness to others. He never would’ve deprived anyone of something
they needed. Just the  name alone is grand.  Elvis is regarded as one of the most important American icons in the twentieth century. I will venture to say that he’s on of the most popular, and loved entertainer of all time. I also know that you ALL
are “taking care of business”
