The children of San Jose, Petén, Guatemala dream of having a playground of their very own.  Currently, over two-thousand children in the village don’t have a slide to go down or a swing on which to play! 

The quaint village of San Jose—which is nestled on the shores of Lake Petén Itza in northern Guatemala—is working with  Leathers and Associates—the premier developer of community playgrounds in the world.  In March, 2006, the children of San Jose offered their ideas to build a park of dreams.  The park will be built entirely by volunteers in the village, incorporating the ideas of the children.  However, to succeed, we need to raise $40,000 to cover the cost of materials and tools.
