“Oh my God. I’m not wearing this. There’s like no way I’m going outside in this. Is this outfit even legal?” Maria asked looking at her reflection in the wall mirror. “Yes it’s legal, and you look great.” Isabel said from Liz’s vanity. “I think you’ll be the one giving the guys a heart attack.” Liz said from her position on the bed. Maria looked down at her tight black leather, thigh high mini skirt and tight green tube top. A pair of black leather 3-inch thick boots completed her ensemble. “I think my brothers are going to kill me.” Maria said seriously. “I think your going to kill our brother.” Tess said looking up from fixing Liz’s hair. “Tess when you’re done come over here. I want to do your hair.” Isabel said turning around in the chair, her leather pants making a squeaky sound against the wood. “OK, I’m done.” Tess said waving her hand over the final section of Liz’s hair. Tess got up and walked over to sit in front of Isabel’s chair. “Come over here.” Tess said to Maria. Maria did as told and sat down in front of Tess with her back to her. “What are you going to do?” Maria asked. “Depends. Do you like drastic hair styles or normal ones?” Tess said brushing Maria’s hair out. “Drastic.” Maria answered wincing when Tess hit a knot. “OK.” Tess smiled. “Could you not do it the human way?” Maria asked Tess. “Oh, sorry.” Tess said as she put down her brush and waved her hands over Maria’s hair. “Thanks.” Maria said relieved. Liz walked over to her sister’s vanity to admire her hair. It was brought up in a tight ponytail. The ponytail was braided into six different sections and then brought back up like a loose bun. Liz looked down at her out-fit. They had all decided to wear leather. She had opted for her mini skirt that was a little shorter than the one Maria was wearing, and her blue tie top. It tied around her neck then right under her chest. She wondered what Max would think. She hoped she wouldn’t kill him. She glanced over at the three girls to her right. The girls were a sight. Tess was wearing her purple tie top and her leather pants. Isabel had on her leather pants and bright red, square collar tank top on. Michael was going to kill them, if they didn’t kill him first. Liz turned around and started to do her make-up. Simple and sweet, it was a complete contrast to her out-fit. “OK. We’re ready.” Isabel said as they got up. “OK. It’s about 5 minutes to seven so we’re not going to be very late, but we better start to book it so it’s not too crowded when we get there.” Liz said checking the clock. They quickly made their way to the door and down the stairs. Michael’s stereo was off so the guys were obviously ready to go. Once they entered the kitchen they found Kyle and Michael propped up on the counter, and Max and Alex talking on the island. “OK, we’re ready to go.” Tess said. “It’s about time.” Michael said as he turned around to look at the girls. His heart caught in his throat, that outfit couldn’t be legal. She was gorgeous she was… no adjective he used would ever compensate for her beauty. Before he had thought she was pretty, but he had no idea… All he could see was skin…. So much skin…He had a feeling that he wasn’t going to live through the night. Max’s eyes went wide at the beauty in front of him. She was wearing… it didn’t cover… He was a dead man. He knew it. That woman would kill him before he got out of this house. She was stunning to say the least. Her legs were long, tanned and exposed. Her stomach was flat that creamy brown color too. She looked soft and killer. Kyle looked up and the first thing he saw was Maria. “There is no way your wearing that!” He barked out immediately. Then he saw her. Tess was hot. She was beyond hot she was… unearthly. He swallowed hard and tried to concentrate on something… anything. It wasn’t working. He closed his eyes and on the lids were perfect pictures of Tess. He wasn’t going to make it out of here with out dragging her into one of those rooms, and he knew it. Alex’s hands clenched in a fist, and then unclenched. Like always. He knew the other three guys were going to have to be taken out of here in a body bag, but not him. He was accustom to seeing her in… was that leather? ‘Oh god. Breathe!’ He commanded himself. He knew the routine. She came down in… well they weren’t clothes, but more like a second skin… and he would take deep even breathes and then close his eyes and focus on something like sports… It wasn’t working his brain was filled with pictures of Isabel… in leather, and red. She just had to wear red. Figures she was trying to kill him slowly. It wasn’t working; it never worked. He was in trouble, and he knew it. “I am too, and there’s nothing you can do to stop me.” Maria said heatedly. Michael shook his head he had to focus. That’s when he saw the other three girls. “No! No! No! You three are marching your buts back up there and changing.” Michael said while getting up quickly. “Says who?” Isabel asked. “Me.” Michael said walking over to her and her sisters. “Let’s be rational here.” Max said coming out of his daze. “This is me being rational. They’re my sisters, they’re dressed like streetwalkers, and they’re going to change. End of discussion!” Michael said grabbing Liz and Tess by the arm and beginning to walk towards the stairs. “I’ll be back for you.” Michael said looking over his shoulder at Isabel. Liz and Tess grabbed Isabel’s hands and began to connect. They weren’t changing and he couldn’t make them. Their hands began to glow and Michael felt himself be shoved against the wall with a great amount of power. His hands released Tess and Liz. “You win, but bring your jackets, please?” He asked giving in, as always. “Fine.” Liz said as she went back upstairs to find their jackets. They all had Blue Jean jackets. She found Maria’s by her bag on Tess’ bed. Maria’s wasn’t very different only a darker color of denim. As she made her way back down stairs she could here Kyle yelling at Maria, and she heard Maria yelling at Kyle. She could hear Max faintly. He wasn’t yelling but he sounded upset. “I’m not changing.” Maria said firmly, who did he think he was? “Yes you are!” Kyle said just as firmly. “Kyle, chill out. Let’s talk about this rationally.” Max tried desperately to calm them down, but he only managed to piss himself off more. Maria’s hands clenched into a fist and it began to glow. Kyle took notice and did the same. “Kyle back off our I’ll men in black your…” Maria started advancing on her brother. “That’s it. Maria get in the jeep. Kyle come with me.” Max said loudly and grabbed his brother’s arm and dragged him down the hall to a more private place to talk. “What do you think your doing?” Max asked Kyle in a low hiss. “What do I think I’m doing? What are you doing Max?” Kyle asked in the same manner. “I’m letting our sister dress how she wants. Look at Michael’s sister’s they’re dressed just the same. There’s nothing wrong with it. I mean yeah it’s just wrong to see your sister dressed like that, but she’s a big girl she can dress herself.” Max said letting go of Kyle’s arm. “Well if she’s dressed like that she obviously can’t dress herself.” Kyle said glaring at Max. “What’s your problem Kyle?” Max asked leaning in slightly. “We don’t know anyone here Max. What happens if some sleaze ball gets drunk and does something to her? What if we aren’t there to protect her?” Kyle asked looking down at the floor. “Kyle. She’ll be fine she can handle herself. And besides any guy that even looks at her is going to be in trouble. We just have to make sure she’s not alone at all. We’ll always have someone with her.” Max said already forming a plan in his head, “OK? Can we go join the others now?” “Yeah.” Kyle said as he walked off towards the kitchen. When they came back they found that all the girls had left. Michael and Alex were in the process of grabbing their jackets. “Which car are we taking?” Alex asked when he saw them enter. Michael pulled his jacket on, “I don’t know.” “We could take ours, if you want.” Max said walking towards the front door. “Fine by me.” Michael said he too walking towards the exit, Alex and Kyle not far behind. When they reached the ally they found the girls on the jeep talking to one another. “Max, how are we going to seat eight people in a five person jeep?” Kyle asked as he walked over to the jeep. “Three boys in the back. One boy driving. One girl in the passenger seat, and three sitting on the boys lap in the back.” Maria said from her position on the hood. “I’m driving.” Max said instantly. “I’ll direct.” Liz said right after him. Max hopped in the driver’s seat and Liz slid off the hood of the jeep on to the ground, along with the three other girls. Liz walked over and jumped in the passenger seat as Michael, Alex and Kyle got in the back. “Which girl is sitting on which lap?” Tess asked nervously. “Just get in.” Michael said. Maria, Isabel and Tess hoped in the back. Michael wished he wouldn’t have said that as soon as Maria sat down on his lap. How was he supposed to make it to the party without dying? This was going to be slow torture, and he had a feeling he was going to love every moment of it. He laid his arm on his lap between the side of the jeep and Maria’s thigh. Yeah slow torture. Maria sat stiffly on Michael’s lap. This was just great. Why had she been the first one to jump in? Oh yeah, Isabel had pushed her. ‘Thanks a lot Isabel!’ Maria thought. Maria heard her own breath catch as she felt Michael’s arm lay against her thigh. It wasn’t pressed against it, in fact it was barley touching it, but the sparks still shot up and down her leg unmercifully. Kyle shifted uncomfortably. Tess jerked back as the jeep started to lurch forward. Kyle took in a sharp breath. She smelt so good. Why had he agreed to go to the rave? Oh yeah, she had asked him with that devious little smile and those crystal eyes. He closed his eyes and let himself drown in her smell. He definitely didn’t want to discuss these thoughts. Alex took a deep breath then let it out quietly. He was going to die; no routine could save him from this. Nothing could save him from this. He was going to die, but what a way to go! Max glanced over at Liz then back at the road. ‘At this pace I’m going to get us killed.’ Max thought as he glanced back over at her. ‘Keep you eyes on the road,’ Liz told herself for the millionth time since she had gotten in the front seat. She had been unsuccessful in not looking at Max every time she breathed. She couldn’t help it. She really couldn’t it was practically involuntary. She quickly glanced over at him and found those deep golden brown eyes looking at her intently. She smiled slightly, and began to blush. He returned her smile and felt his ears begin to burn. He refocused his eyes on the road, as did she. He took one hand off the steering wheel and placed it on the area between the seats. Liz looked down at his hand, out of the corner of her eye, for a good two minutes before she inched hers across her lap. She waited at least another minute before she casually laid her hand next to his. Liz smiled as their pinkies touched. Heat traveled through her entire hand and up her arm flooding her entire body. He rubbed his finger against hers slightly. Had it been anyone else she wouldn’t have even noticed the small gesture, but it wasn’t anyone else. It wasn’t some guy from school, or some dumb jock that liked to drool over her. It was Max DeLuca. * She gently rubbed his finger back making the sparks intensify, if that was even possible. He was going to crash. He was going to… His thought were cut off by a voice from the back, “Did we just pass up the turn?” Isabel asked from the back. “Oh, my bad you guys. The turn is two streets back to your left.” Liz said the last part quietly to Max looking at him. “Don’t worry about it.” Max said smiling gently over at her. He pulled onto the side of the road and quickly turned around. “Turn here.” Liz said tucking a little flyaway behind her ear with her free hand. Max did as he was told and was meet with several cars blocking his path into the ally of the soap factory. He parked to the side and cut off the engine. Liz lifted her hand and gently brushed it across Max’s before she jumped out of the jeep to gather with the other girls already on the ground. “OK, are you sure this is a good idea?” Maria asked wringing her hands together for what was the millionth time. “Yes, it’s a good idea. You’ll be fine, and chill out. You’re with the Ice queen and her princesses. You’ll fit right in.” Isabel said walking towards the building. “Ice Queen? Princesses? What did I miss?” Maria asked raising her eyebrows. “Isabel is referred to as the Ice Queen, and Tess and I are called the Ice Princesses.” Liz explained walking up to her. “Great.” Maria said taking a deep breath as she reached the crowd of people who were swarming around the opening to the factory. Instantly they were crammed into a small entrance leading into a much larger area that was too filled with people. Isabel and Tess were in the front, and Maria and Liz were right behind them. Michael stood behind Maria, and Max stood behind Liz and in front of Kyle. The line stopped suddenly and Michael walked right into Maria, causing his hand to briefly brush against her bare midriff. Maria inhaled instantly. She leaned into his hand before she could catch herself. Michael, on the other hand, did catch himself and quickly put his hands in his pockets where they couldn’t get him in any more trouble. As the line started to move Liz felt Max’s hand right above the top of her skirt, gently guiding her through the masses of teenagers already collected. She tentatively leaned into the touch causing Max to flatten his hand across the small of her back. Both of them enjoyed the feel of warm skin contact. As soon as the eight teens were inside they grouped together in one big crowd and stood towards the back of the room. “OK. I need my cedar oil.” Maria mumbled as a girl came up to them. “Hi Max. You going to save me a dance?” Pam Troy asked smiling wide and briefly gazing over at Liz. “Actually, he’s booked.” Liz said wrapping her arm around his waist. Max took the hint and let his arm fall around her shoulders. “And what are you, his secretary?” Pam asked with a glare. “Actually she’s his date.” Maria said; ice lacing her words. She didn’t know what this girl had done to them but she could tell that she was beyond not welcome. Pam turned around in a huff and walked off. “I hate that girl.” Liz growled reluctantly letting Max go. “Why?” Kyle asked from his position against the wall. “Too long of a story and here come Maggie and Gracie.” Tess said changing her standing position to stand closer to Isabel. “The Fashion Twits.” Isabel said glaring at them. “The only other twins in the sophomore class.” Liz spit out as the two blonde girls with identical features and bright green eyes walked up. “Hi.” They said in unison. The others just glared at them. “We couldn’t help but over hear that Lizzie’s got herself a new boy toy.” Gracie said with an overly done fake smile and syrupy voice. “Yeah and we couldn’t help but over hear that you both got new noses done.” Tess said in the same manner. “Yeah, I’m sure they’ll look great when the swelling goes down.” Liz said with a sugary voice. They both glared at them and turned to walk away, but instead they ran into Brittney and Glenna. “Can we help you?” Maggie asked snottily. “Yeah, move.” Brittney said glaring at them. They obliged and went off to find their little clique. “Hey, nice outfits.” Glenna said looking at the four chicks in front of them. “Is that the skirt you got at the mall last month?” Glenna asked Liz. “Yeah, it was on sale too.” Liz said shaking her head. “Cool.” Glenna said before asking, “We’re going out back with James and Ernest, you want to come?’ “Yeah, we have plenty.” Brittney said with a smile. “Did you already…” Isabel began looking at her strangely. Brittney just giggled before looking at the small flower embodied on the hem of her shirt; “Flowers are pretty.” She said in a dazed happy voice. “Make sure she doesn’t get into any trouble.” Tess said to Glenna. “I will don’t worry about it. Do you think the cops will bust?” She asked suddenly scared. “They shouldn’t rumor has it the new sheriff doesn’t know his way around town yet. What a shame.” Leslie said walking up to the group with a boy a little taller than Glenna. “This is Bo, Bo this is Maria, Kyle, and Max.” Glenna said politely before Brittney threw an arm around her shoulders. “Hey Glenna, you have red hair, kind of like fire. Fire’s pretty.” She said in that happy voice again. “We’ll just… have fun.” She said walking off with Brittney’s arm around her and Leslie and Bo on her other side. “She seems…” Michael let his voice trail off. “Hi.” Liz finished for him. “You know Melissa, she probably started to party early, and where Melissa is her cousins aren’t far behind.” Tess said slightly shaking her head. “You four ever…” Maria began to ask but Michael interrupted her. “If you take one sip you’ll be out of it for a while, and none of us have ever tried any drugs.” He said certainly. “I’ve never seen you even take medicine.” Alex said shortly. “We don’t get sick.” Tess reminded him. “I know but I didn’t really know why. Your immunity must be a lot stronger than mine.” He said in wonder. “Let’s dance.” Isabel said as a slow song on. She wanted to take his mind off of that before he started to take notes. “My lady.” He said offering her a hand. “Good sir.” She said in a fake accent before she let a laugh escape as they walked into the middle section where every one was dancing. “They’re strange.” Maria said teasingly with a smile. “Who wants to dance?” Maria said turning to look at the three remaining guys. “I think I’ll dance with my ‘date’.” Max said putting air quotation marks around date, “That’s if she doesn’t mind.” “She doesn’t” Liz said taking his hand and leading him out into the floor next to Isabel and Alex. “Again, who wants to dance?” Maria asked the two remaining guys who were leaning into the wall. “They’re just scared. Michael never dances. He has like this dance-a-phobia.” Tess said with a small shake of her head in disapproval. “Really he looks more like a Germ-a-phobe to me.” Maria said sarcastically as she gestured to his hair. “Oh, definitely.” Tess said seriously before she broke a grin. “Funny.” Michael said with a very tight smile. “So whose brave enough to dance with us?” Tess asked Maria’s question. “OK, either one of you dance with one of us or else.” Maria said glaring at them. “Or else what?” Michael asked slightly amused. “You don’t want to find out.” Kyle said standing up offering a hand to Tess who excepted it immediately. They too began to walk towards the dancing crowd. “OK, its me and you porcupine, come on.” Maria said turning towards the floor. She turned around and glared at him, he hadn’t moved an inch. “I’m not a dancer.” He said staying in the shadowed corner. She seductively licked her lips as she walked up to him. She leaned in close enough he could smell her perfume, Candies and spice. “Too bad.” She grabbed a hold of his top shirt and pulled him all the way to the dance floor. “This is…” Michael trailed off as she put her arms around his neck and her body pressed against his. “This is what?” Maria asked amused as he brought his arms around her small waist. He bent his head down right beside her face, his lips barely brushing against her ear; “You owe me.” “What ever you say spaceboy.” She mumbled into the crock of his neck, which was where her head was. * “So you like Roswell?” Tess asked a little awkwardly. “Yeah, I just love the little green imitation aliens I see every time I turn around.” He said sarcastically while bringing her a closer to his body. Tess began to gather all her courage. Since when had she had to gather her courage for a normal guy? But then again she knew all too well that he was no normal guy. She took a deep breath, “How do you feel about the real ones?” “They’re nice, very interesting, and hot. Very hot.” He added the last part huskily into her ear. “Are we?” She asked with a simple uplift of one of her perfectly tweezed eyebrows. “Yes you are.” He said staring her in the eyes. She smiled and laid her head against his well-toned chest listening to his reassuring heartbeat. * “So, date. What’s it like to be the Ice Princess?” Max asked nervously. He was never nervous around girl because well… they didn’t really matter. He knew he sounded harsh but it was true. They were great girls but in the long run he could easily live with out them, but Liz… He had finally found her and she was… like him. “It’s great.” She said raising her eyebrow in sarcastic enthusiasm. “So I’m assuming you were one of us back at your old school.” “One of us?” He asked slowly trying to decode her words, or lack there of. “The popular people, you know being a jock and all I figured you were on the top line. That and most of the hotties here are popular so you should feel right at home.” She said with a flirtatious grin. “Yeah I was popular.” He said his face turning an interesting rose color. “Yeah well you’ll be popular here too.” She said still dazzling him with her thousand-watt smile. “Do you have a boyfriend?” He asked gazing down at her tenderly. “Why do you ask Mr. DeLuca?” She asked her eyes slightly gleaming. “Because I just thought it would seem a bit strange if you have a boyfriend and brought a date.” He said lowering his head slightly. “I’m not dating anyone at this moment.” She said shyly. “That surprises me. You know girls like you at my old school used to have a guy lined up, one right after the other.” He said letting his voice travel over her. “Girls like me?” She asked in a little daze. “You know, popular, smart, funny… beautiful.” He let his last word come out as a whisper before he swooped down and kissed her full on the lips. She was amazing her mouth tasted like strawberries and cinnamon. Her lips were soft and caressing his smoothly. He let his hand pull her a little closer and he began to run a hand up her back to her neck, and finally into her dark silk strands of hair. Her nervousness had instantly evaporated when his lips gently but urgently pressed against hers. His mouth was forceful in a tender sort of way. His hands were massaging the back of her neck and head in a never-ending caress that she really didn’t want to end, ever. Once the kiss stopped so they could catch their breath they couldn’t help but look at each other with expectations. Max let a smile slip across his face as he placed a hand on the side of her face. She in return kissed inside of his palm before laying her head against his solid chest. Listening to the music sweep over them as one thought kept racing in their minds. ‘I’ve found my soul mate.’ * “So Ice Queen, what made you lower your social stand point to be seen dancing with the village idiot?” Alex asked Isabel while they danced close, but not too close. “You’re not the village idiot, that’s Michael’s job.” She said with all seriousness while tightening her hands lock on his neck ever so slightly. “I’m still here Izzy. I’ll always be here.” He said softly noticing automatically what the problem was. “I know. It’s just when you were shot, and… and when we told you I thought you’d…” She let trail off as she felt new tears prick at her eyes. “I’m here and I don’t plan on going anywhere, no matter what you are. Besides who said I don’t like my girls a little green around the gills?” He asked receiving a smile from her. “Your girls?” She asked amused. “Yes I know Tess would get righteous on me and Liz would give some kind of physiological explanation on why I feel I have to posses you three, but that's not what I mean. You three are a part of my family. You’re a part of me." He said bringing her into a warm embrace, which she responded to fully. * “God, how can they dance so much?” Kyle asked as he watched his sister, Isabel, Liz, and Tess dance. “I think it’s a chick thing.” Michael said thoughtfully before he broke out in a grin. “What?” Alex asked looking at his amused friend. “At least we don’t feel left out, I mean all you human guys are sitting out too.” Michael responded patting his friend on the back. “Amen.” Kyle said half way paying attention to the conversation and half way paying attention to Tess’ hips. “You know I’m not sure you should be drooling over my sister.” Michael said suddenly protective. “Why is that?” Kyle asked as he looked over at the taller boy. “Because I don’t know you very well.” He said in all honesty. “I think I’m running out of secrets to tell.” Kyle said. “True… But don’t get too close. If you hurt her…” Michael began a threat but was cut off by Kyle. “Let me guess, you’ll kill me in the most horrible torturous way you can think of while keeping me conscious enough so I can feel my very last heart beat?” Kyle asked looking at him with a smirk on his face. “Basically.” He said in a deep voice. “Ditto, if you hurt my sister…” He looked over at his sister than back at Michael, “Just remember the powers go both ways.” He said finally. Michael nodded his head slightly a newfound respect for Kyle DeLuca now implanted in his head. * “Look at the poor guys, the have been standing there for the past hour.” Maria said shaking her head in disapproval. “Why don’t you come dance with us?” Isabel asked as they all walked over to the four guys lounging against the wall. “We don’t dance.” Alex said with a smile. “We don’t rave.” Michael clarified for him. “We don’t care.” Tess said flatly. Each girl grabbed one arm of one guy and one arm of another and proceeded to drag them off on to the dance floor. “We win.” Liz said shaking her head as a new song began to play. Instantly Michael smirked and Maria groaned. “Metallica.” Liz said with disregard. “I’ll be right back.” Maria said as she began to walk out. Kyle and Max both moved in to follow her but Michael stopped her with a question, “Where are you going?” “To ask them to change it.” She said still not moving, “To fuel.” She added as she began walking again. Michael was after her instantly. “I hate Metallica!” Tess said heatedly staring after the two teens that were no where in sight. “I completely understand.” Kyle said turning to them. “What time is it?” Liz asked Max who had come and stood beside her. “Almost midnight, aren’t you guys tired yet?” Max asked but before Liz could answer everyone heard sirens then there was a mad dash for the exits separating the six remaining teens. * “I’m not listening to Fuel!” Michael said and then suddenly there was no music at all just yelling, sirens and the sound of a stampede. Then out the mess of noise there was a lady’s voice, in the distance, “Sheriff Valenti!” Tammi had yelled. Maria was shoved out of her thoughts of her dad catching her and straight into Michael by a mad dashing teen with a beer can in his hand. Michael wrapped his arms around her keeping them together and anchored as the rush began to come at full speed. “We have to get out of here!” Maria yelled into his ear. Michael in return gave her a ‘No duh!’ look and let her go, but quickly took hold of her hand trying desperately to make it to the back exit of the factory. * Max and Liz had made it out of the factory and were now waiting beside the jeep that was thankfully parked a block a way and under a giant tree which provided great shade even from the police lights. “Liz…” Max began but was cut off. “There’s Kyle and Tess. Isabel and Alex are behind them!” Liz said relieved. Once the teens made it over to the side of the jeep they all began to look for the only missing people of their group, Michael and Maria. ”Where are they?” Isabel asked becoming very worried. “Last time I saw them they were heading to the back to find the DJ.” Alex said wrapping his arms around Tess and Isabel. Glenna and Brittney ran by but stopped when they heard the teens calling out to them. “Have you seen Michael and Maria?” Liz asked as she stood up to see the two girls better. “I don’t know. Last thing I saw before we got out was Leslie and James being took away! They took my James! I didn’t see them in the police cars, and last I saw they were running with us.” Glenna said before grabbing Brittney’s arm and running across the street and jumping into the car that Ernest and Bo had already started. They quietly exited trying to not alert the police to their vehicle. “They were beside the and now they’re like gone!” Kyle said in a panicked tone. “Calm down I’m sure they’re fine.” Max said as he grabbed on to Liz’s arm gently bring her back down beside the jeep. “They’re going to be fine.” He said trying to reassure the others along with him self. “We can only hope.” Alex said under his breath. Isabel turned around and smacked him on the shoulders. Alex looked at her then tightened one of his arms around her putting his head onto her shoulder. She rested her head onto his. Michael and Maria came running out of the factory hand in hand. Max jumped into the front seat and started the engine. Liz slid into the front seat next to him. Kyle and Alex practically threw themselves over the side and into the back of the vehicle. Of course Tess and Isabel took a little more time to get in. Once Maria and Michael were all the way to the jeep he jumped in and looked over at her placing his hands on her slender hips helping to hoist into the jeep and onto his lap. “Go.” Maria said loudly as she grabbed a hold of her thighs to keep her hands from shaking. Max didn’t have to be told twice. He got out of there as fast as he could. Once he was on the main road he just drove until he saw an empty parking lot to pull over to. “Are you two OK?” Isabel asked from the other side of the back seat reaching over to touch Michael’s shoulder and Maria’s back comfortingly. “Dad was there.” Maria said hyperventilating. “Hold on.” Max said as he dug through the nearly empty ashtray searching for her emergency stash of Cypress oil, “Here. Talk slowly and take deep breaths.” He said as he tossed the bottle to her. “Did he see you?” Kyle asked taking hold of her hand that now felt like it was permanently part of her thigh. “No, I don’t think so.” She said recapping the bottle and squeezing Kyle’s hand before releasing it completely. “Come on. Let’s get back to our house.” Michael said breaking the silence that had uncomfortably come over the jeep. Michael tossed an arm around Tess giving her a brief hug and Alex’s hand snaked out to firmly grasp his forearm briefly. Liz turned in her seat to stare at her brother behind Maria. “Hey.” She mouthed towards him. “Hey.” He mouthed back looking around Maria. Liz smiled and righted herself sitting properly in the front seat. “How about we rent movies?” Tess asked from her cozy position on Kyle’s lap. “Block Buster’s open till two.” Liz said looking over at Max with raised eyebrows. “We can have an GN.” Alex said from behind Isabel in a happy enthusiastic voice. She turned side ways on his lap so he could see every one better. “A ‘GN?’” Maria asked a bit confused. “Groups night. We used to have them all the time before…” “High school.” Liz said a bit sad. “I say we do it.” Michael said moving his fingers slightly against Maria’s thigh from their previously dormant spot next to her. “Me too.” She piped up instantly getting a small but smug smile from Michael. “One problem, I have no clue where block buster is.” Max said looking over at Liz then briefly into the back. “Well with me your trusty dusty human driving, road, and place map you’ll be fine.” Liz said smiling. “Yeah that’d be the map that can’t remember where to turn, or better yet where not to turn?” Tess asked from the back receiving a laugh from every one except Max, Kyle, and Maria. “OK, what’d I miss?” Kyle asked sitting up a little more. “Well first day of freshman year me and Liz were talking on the way to gym, and she was so adsorbed in the conversation she didn’t notice as she walked right into the boys locker room instead of the other door that lead out to the parking lot.” Tess said watching her sister blush. “And of course to make matters worse it was the football team and they had just gotten out of their showers. They were all lined up next to their lockers, bare butts and all.” Liz said looking down and covering her face in embarrassment as the jeep erupted into laughter. “I wouldn’t have minded it that much.” Maria said under her breath. Michael laid his hand solidly on her leg making her jump from the sparks that were now unmercifully terrorizing her body, in the most pleasant way of course. “OK, you can all shut up now. So are we going?” She asked her face still a nice crimson color. “Girls?” She asked and all the girls shook their heads in affirmative. “Guys?” Isabel asked and there was a mumble of ‘yeahs’ before Max started the jeep back up and pulled out of the parking lot Quietness over took until the CD player turned on out of no where and ‘This Kiss’ by Faith Hill started to play “Kyle.” Maria said through gritted teeth, if I have to listen to her one more time…” She began before Max manually turned on the radio instead of the CD player. Liz looked over and pointed to a road for Max to turn down. He smiled as he straightened out the jeep on the said road. She smiled back and rested her hand on her lap not wanting to make the first move. Max looked over at her and reached over to her and grabbed her hand before bringing it to his lips then setting it back down on the area between them a simple satisfied smile playing at his lips. Maria whimpered a little more as he placed a hand on her rib cage shoving her back a little more into the movies behind her. The second on who had one hand over Tess’ mouth and one around her throat smiled drunkenly. The guys were in their mid twenties at least and looked as thought they were just passing by.
