Maria looked around Kyle’s head out the Explorer’s window there were little
alien crafts every where. She felt like she was about to throw up. Why did
they they have to move to Roswell?

Her mother also noticed what she thought were ‘cute’ little crafts
everywhere.

“Maybe I should make some of those they’re just so cute, and now I’ll have
all this time on my hands and all.” Maria’s mother trailed off and her
husband, the new sheriff of Roswell, quickly looked over at her and took her
hand reassuring her of their decision.

Maria reached over and grabbed both of her brothers’ hands they turned and
looked over her head at one another.

They knew that she took it the hardest, not being able to tell their parents
the truth about them.

“Who wants lunch?” Their dad asked stopping at a red light.

“I could go for a burger.” Kyle said and Max nodded the same.

Maria looked at her dad and nodded too, but she wasn’t hungry.

“There’s a cute little place.” Amy cried out pointing to a restaurant with a
UFO above the entrance.

She really had to have a talk with her mom about her tastes.

Their dad parked and they all slowly filed out. Mr. and Mrs. DeLuca walked
inside of the Crashdown and took a seat facing towards the window in a booth
close to the door.

Maria called her brothers over to her before asking; “Can you feel it?”

“It’s gotten stronger.” Max said looking from her to Kyle and then back
again.

“I can feel it now.” Kyle said a bit stunned.

He’d never been very good at sensing things. He could feel Maria and Max all
the time in the back of his head, like a constant hum, and when there
feelings got really strong he could tell how they felt, but not in detail.

Now he could feel what they had always felt. It was a different kind of hum.
It was all around him now.

They quickly joined their parents inside.

Jim and Amy laughed a little at the menu. Max and Kyle looked disgusted and
Maria actually found it a little amusing, but still it was disturbing none
the less.

“Welcome to the Crashdown, I’m Liz and I’ll be taking your orders.” Said the
polite brunette.

Liz hid behind her smile. She didn’t at all feel cheerful. Actually to be
more specific she felt nauseous and some how calm at the same time.

She glanced over at her sister; she too was taking orders. Liz could feel
the confusion radiate off of her in waves.

She turned back to the family and started jotting down their orders briefly
looking up so she knew what went to whom.

When she looked up she was meet with the most soulful eyes she had ever
seen.

He stared at her entranced by her simple beauty and deep mysterious eyes.

“I’ll have an alien blast.” Maria’s voice ripped them from their trance.

“Yeah, me too.” Max said instantly refocusing his stare at the tabletop. He
could feel his ears burning.

Liz smiled and walked off to put their order into the cook.

Michael tried desperately to concentrate, but he couldn’t.

“Michael are you OK?” Tess asked putting her order in.

“No!” Michael snapped at her. He took a deep breath and threw her an
apologetic look. She smiled at him. They both knew why he was on edge and it
didn’t have anything to do with her, he was just frustrated.

He was on edge for the same reason her and Liz were. They could feel
something or someone they didn’t know which. It had always been there but
now it had gotten stronger.

Liz walked up and placed her order near Tess’. She looked over at Michael
and then back to Tess. She motioned for her to follow her invoking an
inquisitive look on her brother’s face.

“Girl talk.” Liz threw over her shoulder as she walked out to the counter
and whirled around to face her sister.

“You see booth six?” Liz asked slightly motioning her head towards the said
booth.

“Yeah.” Tess said casually glancing over there.

“You see the dark hair guy sitting next to the blonde?” Liz asked eyes
gleaming with excitement.

“Yeah, he’s cute!” Tess giggled a little before adding, “But they guy on the
other side of the blonde is hot.”

Liz spun around only to find the same eyes burning into hers again.

She smiled shyly and turned around, “You think they’re just tourists?”

Maria snorted slightly. She loved eavesdropping in on others conversations;
she had impeccable hearing, even though it did make her feel a little
guilty.

She looked from Max to Kyle and back again. They were OK looking she
guessed, but they were still her brothers so that ruled out any thing above
semi-decent from her point of perspective.

She looked back down at the tabletop and smiled. It was then that she felt
it. A searing pain shot through her entire hand like live fire. She looked
down and though her vision was blurry because of her tears she could tell
that there was nothing there. The pain was gone, almost as soon as it had
been there it had left.

She looked up to find her parents staring towards the back of the diner and
she found her brothers staring intently at her.

“What happened?” Maria asked Max.

“Someone screamed from the back. What happened to you, are you all right?”
He asked quietly looking her over carefully. She turned and saw Kyle doing
the same thing.

“Are you OK?” Kyle asked looking her in the eyes.

She nodded and looked up just in time to see two waitresses run into the
back room.

Tess and Liz found Michael threatening and muttering curse words at the
grill.

“You OK?” Liz asked running up to her brother.

“I’m fine.” Michael said looking back at them.

Liz and Tess seized Michael in a hug.

“Well I was fine, but now I’m having trouble breathing.” Michael said
squeezing them tightly then letting his arms fall.

The girls reluctantly let him go.

“We have customers out there ladies.” Michael said smirking at his little
sisters and they walked out of the room.

Liz walked over to table six.

“Will that be all?” Liz asked smiling at them brightly. Glancing over at the
dark hair boy every few seconds.

“Well actually could you tell us how to get to Murray Lane?” Mr. DeLuca
asked.

“You must be new in town.” Liz said still smiling.

“Actually we just moved here.” Max said dazzling her with a flirtatious
grin.

Liz just smiled back.

When they pulled up to their house they saw their new car.

Kyle was the first one out and Maria was the first one to it.

“I love it! Thank you so much!” Maria cried checking out the stereo system
as she jumped into the electric blue jeep.

“I told you I’d get you three one eventually.” Her dad smiled as his sons
quickly made their way over to it.

“Thanks daddy!” Maria screamed and ran over to give him and her mother a
hug.
