Kyle tried desperately to swat Maria’s hands away from their stereo. There
was no way he was listening to Metallica all the way to school.

“Come on. We all ways listen to your music on the way!” Maria whined finally
settling back against the back of the jeep. Her bright outfit a great
contrast to the black interior.

“You know, we could just not listen to music.” Max said tossing his book bag
in the back and jumping in the jeep.

“Silence is so much better than country!” Maria said growling at her brother
in the passenger seat.

Max looked over at Kyle who smiled innocently and turned the music up
louder. Max saw Maria’s face twist in anger and suddenly he was very glad he
wasn’t Kyle.

He started the new jeep and pulled out heading towards where his dad had
told him the school was.

“Hey dude.” Michael called as Alex Whitman ran over to the car jumping in
the unoccupied front seat, and Michael began the short drive to their prison
formally known as school.

“Hey!” He smiled, “And how are my favorite ladies doing this morning?” Alex
asked turning around to look at them.

“Great.” Tess said digging through her purse.

“Good Morning Alex.” Isabel smiled at him then turned back to her compact to
yet again check her lipstick.

“You going to the Rave this weekend?” Liz asked taking off her jacket.

“I hope you don’t think you’re wearing that in public.” Michael said cutting
off Alex’s answer.

“Chill bro. It’s only a shirt.” Liz said readjusting her tube top.

“That’s not a shirt unless you’re Barbie!” Michael said stopping at a red
light.

“Well sorry Ken, you’ll live.” Liz said looking out the window only to find
a brand-new hot blue jeep right across from them. There was a sudden ache in
her.

Michael pressed down on the accelerator and drove off, as did the jeep
causing the feeling to intensify.

“Yeah, Michael. It’s just a shirt.” Tess said taking off her jacket too.

Liz turned and smiled at her sister. She would deal with those feelings
later.

They had called Isabel and they had all decided to wear the shirts they had
bought at the mall the weekend before. They were all the same cut and
everything only they all wore different colors. It would go perfectly with
their ‘royal ice’ image at school.

Michael looked back at his sisters and then he watched Isabel take off her
jacket too.

“No! This isn’t going to happen. Either you all wear your jackets or…”
Michael tried to think of something to do.

“Or you’ll what, call the shirt police?” Liz asked watching amused as her
brother’s face went from pink to blood red.

“I’ll take you all home.” Michael said stopping the car on the side of the
road and turning it off.

“Michael, chill out.” Alex said trying to calm down his friend and not blush
at the same time. He knew exactly why Michael didn't want them to wear those
shirts. It was because he didn’t want other guys to think exactly what was
going through his own mind right now.

He was just as much against Tess and Liz wearing them, they were like his
own little sisters in a way, but Isabel was another story all together.

“Chill out?” Michael asked confused.

“Well, worst case scenario you and I get to beat the crap out of every guy
that looks at them.” Alex said a smile playing at his lips.

“Best case scenario?” Michael asked feeling a little better.

“That also included the best case scenario.” Alex said as Michael turned the
key and pressed down on the accelerator.

The girls all rolled their eyes as a smile crept up on their brother’s face.

“This is it.” Max said pulling into the parking lot and shutting off the
engine. None of them even made a move for the doors.

“Couldn’t we just like skip?” Maria asked hopefully.

“Out.” Max commanded as he and Kyle slowly made their way out of the jeep.

They retrieved their stuff and started walking towards the school.

“That’s new.” Michael said pulling up next to the blue jeep.

Alex turned to check out the vehicle, “Well, I approve.”

“Ditto.” Liz and Tess said.

“It would look better in red.” Isabel said. She liked everything in red. Her
hair was up in a straight back ponytail, with a red headband, and she was
wearing a crimson scrunch tube top. Her lips were, as Rick Martian would put
it ‘devil red.’ She liked the way it looked on her and from the color of
Alex’s cheeks he liked it too.

They quickly filed out of the car making their way towards the school.

Maria looked and forth between her brothers in pure horror. The only class
they would share besides their lunch hour was study hall, which was of
course the very last class of the day.

She watched as both of her brothers gave her a hopeful look and disappeared
into their first hour class, Math.

After she stared at the door for a few seconds she spun around and started
to look for the Biology room.

“Please put your jackets on.” Michael begged them as Tess and Isabel turned
to go into the Biology room.

“No, and that’s final.” Tess yelled catching everyone’s attention.

Liz stopped to ask Isabel something about the party this Friday and Michael
just continued his journey towards the Math room.

Michael flopped down in his chair across from Alex, just as his sister made
her way through the door and towards her usual seat all the way across the
room near her groupies.

“Still wouldn’t put them on?” Alex asked even though he already knew the
answer.

“They want to get a tan! I think they just want to give me a heart attack.”
Michael cried.

“Mind if we sit here?” Max asked gesturing towards the two unoccupied seats
in front of Alex and Michael.

“Not at all.” Alex answered smiling. Michael just shook his head no.

“I’m Alex.” Alex said looking form Max to Kyle.

“I’m Max and this is my brother Kyle.” Max said offering a hand. Alex shook
it and then Michael.

There was a spark between their hands and their eyes looked at each other
briefly in alarm then quickly away neither noticing the others expression of
panic, the same with Kyle, Things were getting a little too uncomfortable.

“I’m Michael.” Michael said looking over at Liz instead of facing any of the
boys.

Max felt his heart beating extra quick and he didn’t quite know why. He had
felt the same thing in the restaurant yesterday, but hadn’t said anything so
he wouldn’t alarm Maria or Kyle.

He saw Michael’s expression turn t anger, and he followed his gaze across
the room to a huddle of girls squealing about something, Kyle noticed too.

Alex looked from Michael back to Liz’s groupies who were surrounding her
completely. The only way he could tell that she was over there was cause
they kept going on about how cute she looked and how brilliant it was to all
match on the same day. They were complete airheads and for the life of him
he couldn’t figure out why Liz would stoop that low to hang out with them.
She was a 4.0 student and she was hanging out with people who basically had
the IQ of cheese.

“You’re not going to let it go are you?” Alex asked even though he knew
Michael wouldn’t.

“It’s not a shirt, it’s a rag.” Michael spit out through clenched teeth.

Kyle looked over at Max and Max looked over at the group. Something was
calling him to there someone was calling him.

“His sister is wearing a shirt that he doesn’t like.” Alex offered to the
two very confused looking boys. “Not just one; in fact all of them.”

“I hate it when our sister does that. I think she does it just to get us
mad. I mean it’s one thing when some other girls shows some skin, but your
own sister?” Max offered looking over at Michael.

“You have a sister?” Michael asked curiously.

“Yeah, Maria DeLuca. You can’t miss her.” Kyle said laughing a little
remembering what his sister was wearing this morning.

Alex looked over at him strangely.

“She has very peculiar taste. She’s wearing her lemon out fit today.” Max
answered with a smirk only confusing Alex and Michael even more.

“She likes to express herself through the way she dresses.” Max offered.

“Well my sisters are just trying to give me a heart attack.” Michael said
propping up his feet on the back of Max’s desk.

“My sister tries to do that every morning.” Kyle said seriously.

“How?” Michael asked.

“She wakes me up by playing Metallica as high as it’ll go.” Kyle said
looking over at Max who only smirked back at him.

“I do that to my sisters too.” Michael said finally smiling.
