Kahlua is our newest rescue. She is a female green iguana. Estimated at anywhere between 3 and 5 years old, she is smaller than Tarzan, my 2.5 year old male iguana. She arrived on Friday, March 15th. The monday after, she went to the vet and was weighed in at 1.1 lbs. Tarzan on the other hand, weighed in at 2.5 lbs. Kahlua's front lips did not meet, and her nostrils were deformed. Kahlua's toes were also deformed, from what looked like past breaks.
Kahlua was previously living in a 20 gallon long aquarium, on top of feces and urate-encrusted pine shavings. She had no UV and was being fed lettuce and carrots. She'll be recieving some TLC, UV, and good food now. Check back soon for more updates.
