Teri Larsen Honored
In her role as VJJA Legislative Committee Chair, Probation Officer Teri Larsen, of the 15th District Court Service Unit, received the “Citizen Legislator Award” for her work on HB 2012 which amends Virginia Code §16.1-250.1 to ensure that notice of a juvenile detention review hearing is given to the probation and parole department of the court service unit.
Ms. Larsen, 1 of only 9 Virginians to receive this recognition, is an intake officer in the King George County Branch Office and has worked for the Department of Juvenile Justice for 6 years. The award, which was sponsored by Delegate Robert Bell, recognizes citizens instrumental in securing passage of legislation.
