Kevin, The Penguinator has counted vistors to this page so far.
VKØLD was active from Antarctic Logistics & Expedition's Patriot Hills summer only Base Camp at the southern tip of the remote Ellsworth Mountains deep in the interior of the continent at 81 Degrees South, 80 Degrees West from December 14th 2003 to Jan 13th January 2004 using the re-issued callsign VP8PJ & the Singaporean issued callsign 9VØA.

VP8PJ operated exclusively on PSK-31, mainly on 14.070MHz.
9VØA operated mainly CW, on 7MHz & 10 MHz, plus a few QSOs on SSB 14 MHz.

This was not a DXpedition - I was working there & my free time was rather limited. There were also significant power & other operational constraints.

Equipment was  a Yaesu FT 897, 17 to 20 dBW into an unterminated Vee beam orientated at 011/191 degrees azimuth.

9VØA QSL cards are now available from QSL Manager Alan Roocroft, VK4AAR.
