WELCOME to Astro * Logic Insights Monthly

This ezine has finally become a reality. I had hopes of having the first issue published in January to get the New Year off to a good start but health problems postponed the launching.

I really want this to be something for everyone and urge your participation. You are welcome to send in your questions, and comments, etc. This is **your** opportunity to help make this ezine your Astro * Logic Insights Monthly, a gathering place for all Astrologers, students just beginning, and more seasoned students.

I mention this because we are ALL students of Astrology. Why? Because there is always something new on the horizon. I feel I will still be learning when I pass to the next realm of reality.

I see a trend developing on the Forum at my web site asking about progressions, retrogrades and relocation. I will attempt to get information included regarding this and more as this ezine grows. So, I urge you to participate with your views, questions and opinions as we go along.

"Why Progressions"

To begin with, I always use the "day for a year" type of Progression as outlined in the Bible. I feel this is the most accurate method. You may experiment with the other types of progressions, but you will, in most cases, come back to the most widely accepted "day for a year" method. Your chart never just sits there. Something is always happening. The Moon moves one degree a month and in doing so, makes aspects to every planet in your chart. This is most important to keep track of, so that you remain aware of where it is and what it could aspect at any given time.

Progression is the method of bringing to fruition the "natal promise" in your birth map or, as most commonly referred to, your Horoscope. The natal promise relates to the aspects made by each natal planet to the other. For instance, if you have Saturn square your Sun, this means that Saturn must progress to within one degree of exact orb to your natal Sun before the natal promise begins to take place. The time of the action begins one degree before your Sun to one degree **after** your Sun. This means for a period of three years, you will be learning some type of lesson relating to what the Sun stands for in what area (house) of your life. The one degree before your Sun is the strongest because the aspect is applying to your Sun - building up the pressure. Once Saturn is conjunct, the lesson as been applied and only you can determine how successful it is by your acceptance and action taken. When Saturn reaches the degree immediately following your Sun, the influence begins to diminish in strength. There is an old saying that "Saturn delays" and you could still be feeling the effect in that latter degree.

The first and most important thing to remember is that a progressed planet making an aspect to a natal planet in your chart that has **no** natal aspect (known as the natal promise) will do nothing in your life. Many students of Astrology tend to be afraid of Saturn aspects, but never look to see "if" there is a promise between the aspected planet and Saturn - and - if so, what type of promise!

This is very important. Most of us do have Saturn aspects, but they are not all bad aspects. You must take this into consideration. What aspect do you have as your "natal promise" - good or not so good? There are no "bad" aspects. The so-called bad aspects are merely action forcing us to change when we get stuck in the whirlwind of life and don't really want to change OR we don't know how.

When a planet progresses to another planet, it is at this time in your life that the natal promise is set up to take place when it is triggered by a "transiting planet". The triggering planets usually are the Moon and/or Mars. However, bear in mind that any of the personal planets can be the trigger in some cases. Also, don't think when a planet goes retrograde that it will not trigger. In many cases the retrograde planet is more of a danger in triggering that when it is in direct motion. Also, sometimes the planets are all set up and are **never** triggered.

There are several very bad natal promises which do not come to fruition. Why? Because when the planets begin their progression, they move away from the aspect instead of in it's direction. So, when you are looking at your chart and see what you "think" is about to happen, you have to consider all of the above to make an informed decision. Please don't just see the potential of the aspect - look to the reality.
