Word From The Editor

Welcome to our new subscribers. Some of you did not receive the regular ezine, but received the June-July Planet Alert by Mahala. These will soon be available on her website and we will no longer be carrying them. Just remember you can read them on her site. I have reduced the Planet Alert Archives to contain from November 2002 to the present to conserve space :-)

I might mention that my John went into the hospital this morning for surgery on the artery in his upper leg. He has his Progressed Pluto on his Natal Sun. I just realized that this has been his problem since his triple bipass a few years ago. Pluto rules any tubing, pipes, etc. and the arteries are definitely a form of tubing and his Sun rules his 6th. Both are clogged and the surgeon will only do one at a time. I may have mentioned this before, but being the determined man he is, he waited until my daughter got here from Michigan to be with me before he would even consider having this surgery. I pray he has not waited too long. There is no pulse in either leg and the left foot does not respond to any feeling. Please pray for his recovery. He will be 80 years young on July 5th and YES, he is a "firecracker" ;o) I appreciate your prayers.

Well there is some good news and some bad news this month. I don't know how many of you have been keeping up with the scam business on the Internet and the fact that Copyright articles are being reprinted without the permission or knowledge of the writers or their own names. All of that is about to change as the FTC has begun checking out all of these problems. There are many of us who have supplied articles, only to have them plagiarized by others.

If you have a website or intend on developing one on the Internet, I would strongly suggest you check out Auto Web Law. This program will provide you with the proper legal statements that should be found on your website. Get ahead of the problems you could create by not knowing the proper way to give out the information you must have on your site to do business.

If you are joining Affiliate Programs or plan to offer such to your members, again, this is a must have to keep you legal and not have your site shut down because you didn't take the time to check on right and wrong.

You may also sign up for Bruce Safran's - Legaleaze Letter. This gives you hints and guidance along the way. We've been talking about different variations of controlling spam and now we're getting some very serious looks from the FTC. Click on the link below and see for yourself. This is already in the works. Perhaps this is part of the results of Uranus entering Pisces. Uranus rules the 11th house and one of the things ruled by our 11th house is Local Government. What does the sign of Pisces rule? Among the various things also includes "hidden things". Looks like there is going to be a big shake-up in the Internet way of doing business. Keep your business updated!

    Dear Marianne,

    You were recommended to me by Nancy Foley. I am an astrologer of 34 years but medical astrology is something I would probably get a D in if taking a test.

    I have a serious question about an acquaintance & was wondering if you could help me or point me in the right direction.

    She was diagnosed with uterine cancer about 10 years ago. She had a hysterectomy & half her intestines removed. They gave her a special colostomy bag that is inside & can’t be seen. She was told about 3 months ago that the cancer had returned. This time they wanted to remove her vaginal area, etc. My own daughter was born 3 months before Susan & it made the whole situation more personal. I begged her for birth information & was very upset when I saw her chart with Moon in early Cancer & a stellium of planets in Virgo, what with Saturn on her Moon very shortly & Uranus about to oppose her stellium etc.

    I suggested a 2nd opinion since we are relatively close to UNC & Duke University. UNC medical center put her on a vaginal hormone cream for a month & it seemed to be working according to them but when I took her 2 weeks ago, they felt something strange in her bowel area & want to do a CT scan. Susan is on disability & the 2nd opinion is not covered.

    Susan’s mother had this type of cancer & is still living. Susan’s only daughter, Michelle, is morbidly assuming she will have cancer also.

    She has a Moon in late Capricorn with Uranus & Saturn in early Capricorn, all in the first house.

    I don’t have a specific question framed but I guess we want to know if she will have to go through additional surgery etc. I am too close to this situation to react properly as an astrologer. If you have any thoughts on this situation or ………? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    First let me list what governs/rules her problem:


  • The Sign of Scorpio, Venus and Pluto rule the Vagina
  • The Uterus is ruled by the Moon, Sign of Cancer, Pluto and Saturn, as well as the sign of Virgo and the 4th house. It appears all of the necessary ingredients are in place.
  • In the Arabic Parts, the Part of Cancer is calculated as follows: Ascendant..07:11: 59

    Now, let's backtrack a few months ~ there was a Lunar Eclipse on November 20, 2002 at 27°33 Taurus which set up her Part of Surgery at 29°34 Taurus, and squared her Part of Sickness at 24°24 Aquarius. Therefore, the stage was setting. On June 14, 2003 the companion Lunar Eclipse occurred at 24°53 Scorpio. All we need now is something to set all of this off.

    From what I can see Transit Saturn is approaching to inconjunct her Part of Cancer and her Progressed Jupiter is applying to oppose this same part. This says to me that more surgery is indicated. What I don't understand is why any doctor would leave in her vagina when cancer was indicated at that time.

    I don't want to get on my "soapbox" again about doctors taking the Hippocratic Oath and have no earthly idea who Hypocrates was! All of the Astrologers who know anything at all about Hypocrates knows he was an Astrologer and practiced by the Moon and planets. Just ask your own doctor about the Hippocratic Oath and ask. You'll be surprised at just how dumbfounded they will be.

    Just looking at her chart makes me concerned that she can bring on a whole lot of grief to herself with her negative thoughts. When you look at her chart, the natal promise is in full swing with that first house stellium being opposed by Progressed Venus at 00°27 Cancer and the transits of Mercury and Saturn also making their presence known. She needs her Saturn opposition right now like she needs a hole in her head.

    Being a Taurus makes her a bit negative to start with ~ this child needs all of the positivity she can muster and everyone around her should do their best to keep her "up" at this time in her life.

    There is no way to convince her either way about this dreaded thing called cancer. No one knows what God has in store for her. With her Sun opposing Pluto, she will only believe what she wants to in any subject. This opposition is difficult in the best of charts, but in her 10th house, she wants to rule the world and takes no advice. This is a real hard-nosed aspect. I have dealt with this many times and the only way people believe what they have been told is "after" it has happened to them. I advised a friend of a possible accident to his son and he laughed "at me and my Astrology". The very next day his son was in a car with his buddies, it wrecked and ~ his son was the ONLY one hurt!

    Astrology and The World of Dreams

    Tour Of Inner Space

    We’ve all wandered there. The bizarre and mysterious world of dreams has tantalized and mystified people for thousands of years. References to messages received in dreams are found in early religious texts as well as poems and stories. Even the hieroglyphic records of the Ancient Egyptians contain accounts of dreams. Dreams are a key to “inner space”. The inner universe we access each time we sleep is where we spend about a third of our lives.

    Dreams are vital to our physical and emotional well being. Experiments show that dream deprivation leads to the development of many undesirable symptoms such as depression and paranoia. Psychologist Sigmund Feud and Carl Jung are credited with overcoming the deceptively casual attitudes people had toward dreams at the end of the 19th and in the early part of the 20th Centuries. In early times witches and shamans once deliberately guided dream themes to aid in the evolution of those on the spiritual path.

    Incense burned upon retiring for the night as well as the use of herbstuffed dream pillows were techniques used to enhance and magnify the dreamscape.

    Today, we have come full circle in dream work. Once again recording dreams for future reference and dwelling upon a theme in hopes of exploring it in the dream state are common practices. Recurring dreams, shared dreams, precognitive dreams, communication with the spirit world and nightmares are all variations on the dream experience.

    A 2nd Century AD writer, Artemidoras, compiled the very first dream book. He wrote that “Dreams are infused into people for their advantage and instruction”. Eastern European mysticism refers to a “doppelganger”, a German word meaning “body double” which was the shadow self, the animal nature which we control by day goes wild at night. This gave rise to tales of werewolves and Jekyll and Hyde legends linked to the dream state. A focus on dreams opens a whole new perception of the self.

    The study of dreams is both practical and informative. Some guidelines to start with involve being aware of common themes experienced in dreams. These are:


    1) Food theme dreams. These relate to desires and appetites which seek to be satisfied. Food dreams can be a metaphor for money and power as well as fulfillment in love.

    2) Flying. Flight in dreams can show an urge to escape, to get ahead or to move on a spiritual quest to a higher level.


    3) Prophetic and preparatory dreams. These describe events to come and are the mind’s way of getting ready for the future.

    A dream uninterpreted is like a letter unread. There’s a tremendous reservoir of comfort and healing to be found in working with dreams. Begin by keeping a journal, either in writing or on tape. In time, it will be easier to recall more detail, as you become accustomed to recording dreams each day. Even for those who say they don’t dream or recall dreams ever, just writing down a single word or emotion upon waking will soon open a whole new world. It’s important to make a record of dreams immediately upon waking. Once we start to walk, and are “grounded” in the everyday waking world the dreams fade. It’s best to do dream work before getting out of bed.

    Astrology can be helpful in dream analysis. The Sun sign, or basic birth sign, is descriptive of the ego and sense of identity. In spiritual or esoteric astrology the Sun becomes the soul itself. As a dream exercise find your birth sign listed below. While falling asleep, dwell on the keys it provides. Let your birth sign unlock the potentials of your own inner space experience. It might take a couple of attempts, but as you reflect upon the message of your birth sign while falling asleep, in time, your dreams will expand upon it.

    Aries

    Focus on achievement and leadership needs. You have a pioneer instinct.

    Taurus

    Sustenance and security are at the heart of your dream themes.

    Gemini

    Association of ideas and the need to communicate will guide your dreams.

    Cancer

    Protection, preservation and historical themes will affect your dreams.

    Leo

    Creativity as well as leadership and adulation open your dream keys.


    Virgo

    Order and analysis as well as health care are your dream work assignments.

    Libra

    Balance, justice and relationships are your dream time focal points.

    Scorpio

    Probing mysteries, working through passions and possessiveness are part of your dream experience.

    Sagittarius

    Aspirations, challenges, interaction with animals will be at the heart of your journey through dream land.

    Capricorn

    Attainment, executive duties, and the force of tradition will guide your dream work.

    Aquarius

    Inventiveness, the spirit of the gypsy and rebel comes alive through your dream reverie.

    Pisces

    A yearning for more love and the reduction of suffering through service will be at the heart of your dream time.

    Apocalypse Net: Not With a Bang, but a Whimper

    Great or total devastation;
    A prophetic disclosure; a revelation.

    1979. Millions of eyes recoiled in horror as the surrealistic journey through the depths of the jungles of Cambodia unfolded. Death. Napalm. A horrifying tale of madness, power and control. Then... a ritual sacrifice and a machete. The end of existence as they knew it.

    Francis Ford Coppola's controversial masterpiece, "Apocalypse Now," won two Oscars, three Golden Globe awards - and raked in a mind boggling 150 million dollars.

    Those raised with the good book may be familiar with the last chapter. "The Revelation to John." It speaks of the last days of our known civilization on Earth." Not unlike Coppola's masterpiece, it is filled with battle scenes, blood and gore, sin and deception. The ultimate "good versus evil" story. Perhaps you've heard of it by the more popular name - "The Apocalypse?"

    Indeed, since the dawn of time, man has held a deep fascination with the theory of the apocalypse. Good versus evil. The triumph of good, and the end of the world as we know it. I wonder, would we recognize an apocalypse looming on the horizon?

    Nobel prize winning literary giant, T.S. Eliot thought not. In 1925, as he penned "Hollow Men," he concluded with: "This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but a whimper."

    If you've read recent news reports about FTC crackdowns, criminal charges against spammers, denial of service attacks launched remotely from the computers of innocent people, and fraud charges running rampant... you may sense an apocalypse looming on the horizon. On the Internet.

    If you have experienced response rates less than one percent, or accepted the theory that people need to receive ten or more of your sales messages before they even consider buying anything from you... you may sense an apocalypse looming on the horizon. On the Internet.

    I believe that people are the same, today, as they were centuries ago. Technology has advanced. Our basic wants and needs - remain the same. We work and we play, we laugh and we cry. Above all, we want to be respected. We expect value for our dollar.

    We are not leads. We are not wallets, or click throughs. We cannot be bought from list brokers for so many pennies per thousand. We are flesh and blood human beings that want - that demand - respect. We protest in silence. We refuse to click. We refuse to buy. We delete and ignore. Whimpers falling on deaf ears?

    With over two decades of sales and marketing experience under my belt, I like to think I've learned a little about people. Personally, I enjoy Joe Vitale's writing. I am sure that Mark Joyner's farewell package must be packed with treasure to command a price that may well be close to a month's salary for the average Joe.

    However, when I receive seven (count them... seven!) sales pitches in less than seven hours, each with a different affiliate ID attached, I cannot help but feel that I am viewed as little but a wallet - or worse - that I've stumbled into some terribly twisted Internet pimp parade.

    The Internet is, indeed, the greatest communication tool available to us today. Never before have we been able to reach so many people so quickly and in such a cost effective manner. Are we using this? Or abusing it?

    Did you know that in a recent Gallup poll, marketers and advertisers appeared at the bottom of the list of "perceived ethics by profession," along with used car salesmen and lawyers? I did not see this article distributed with the fervor that the latest and greatest programs and products are. Not with a bang, but a whimper?

    Don't get me wrong. I love to buy things. I simply hate being "sold." Don't you?

    I am tired of the large print giving and the small print taking away. I am tired of the deluge of ads invading my space and touting poor quality goods that are not improved by merit of the names that endorse them. I am tired of hype. When all things are touted as the best and the greatest, those words lose their meaning.
