The following report was done by my student, Elaine O'Donnell. She has done such a wonderful job in her deliniation of this child's chart, I felt it worthy to print for others who are studying. She has included the Arabic Parts and Fixed Stars in this study, which is something we have not touched on thus far. If anyone cares to add to this please do.

Marianne! I think I picked a difficult and challenging chart this time! So far I've found in JonBenet's natal chart a Mystic Rectangle between Mars, Neptune, Pluto and Venus! She also has a fixed Grand Trine between Mars, Uranus and Mercury! She has a T-Square between the Sun, Mars, and Pluto. Am I seeing right??

[Marianne] The aspects are definitely there, but I think the orbs are a bit wide for the Mystic Rectangle.

Then a Grand Cross between Mars, Moon, Pluto and Sun! I've never seen a chart with so many major configurations! I even got my aspect book out by Karen Hamaker-Zondag to cross examine myself. My word, Marianne, this child would have transits hitting all the time. I know, I have to remember the Natal Promise! This chart is sooooo fascinating. I almost couldn't get pass her natal chart to work the progressions and transits!

The 1st thing that caught my eye in her natal chart was her Mars and Eq. conjunct in Taurus, in her 12th House opposing her Pluto in Scorpio to the exact degree in the 6th House. This would suggest to me that she could have been quite aggressive and assertive. Her anger would be slow, (Mars in Taurus), but grudges and resentments would stay with her for a long time. But with Pluto in Scorpio, she may have been more underhanded with her "pay backs"

Marianne] Would love to see her parents charts. JonBenet may have been as you say but they were the ones that "pushed" her into her performing acts and for parents to make a child dress up and perform is awful!!

Mars in Taurus is also squaring her Moon (Aquarius) and Sun (Leo). This tells me that she could have had a pretty explosive and emotional temperament once she did become angry! I would think that with the square between her Sun in Leo and Mars in Taurus would react in an assertive and even compulsive behavior. Quite a stubborn and fixed little girl! And, she would likely be over-whelmed with enthusiasm and lots of pent-up energy.

[Marianne] This could have been provoked by the parents. The parents always set the tone for a child in the earlier years. This type of energy would not have really expressed itself until she was older because the parents could have controlled her. That's why I would love to see their charts.

Looking at the trine between her Mercury in Virgo and Neptune in Capricorn would possibly give her a great imagination, but maybe being in earth signs, would give her some control over it.

[Marianne] Absolutely, I can confirm that one as I have Mercury in Taurus and Neptune in Virgo.

Sun in Leo would certainly give her the need to have admiration and attention. The Sun in Leo opposing her Moon in Aquarius gives me the impression that there were conflicts with her Mother. I would guess that this child wanted what she wanted and she wanted it now! No patience, especially with that Mars~Pluto opposition.

[Marianne] That also makes me wonder if perhaps she was really not that excited by the acting stuff, but who was pushing her? Mom or Dad?

I've been told that with Chiron placed in the 3rd House (siblings and neighbors), there could be early childhood abuse in some form. And, this would certainly fit the picture. I would think that being conjunct with Venus in Cancer that the abuse, (be it verbal or sexual), could have came from a woman. However, when looking further Chiron is opposing Saturn, (planet of authority figures and father), it could more than likely have been a male figure. And, Chiron is also squaring Mars. (Mars represents male figures and Chiron is the wounded warrior). Mars in the 12th House, (angry, abuse, sudden deaths, especially by violence, injuries by violence would remain hidden~~Venus represents Mother, and Venus conjunct Chiron, perhaps the mother attempted to protect her.Chiron is the wounded warrior that carries the message of healing.

[Marianne] The Moon, tradionally represents Mother as well as Venus for those who do not realize the connection.

Perhaps if JonBenet had been allowed to grow up, she would have carried the message of love and healing through her own sacrifice of innocence. This could be the beginning of her death. Anyway, it was an instant thought that popped into my head as I was studying her natal chart. So, I decided to put it into the reading.

[Marianne] Good thought. Someday the one who did this will pay. I keep leaning toward the parents. The way the child was made to look so provocative could have made the Mother jealous of Dad's attention.

Natal Uranus in the 8th House of death along with the 4th House of endings indicates a quick, sudden death. And, in this case, it was definitely right on target. The 4th House carries JonBenet's Sun and Mercury the ruler of her chart. The 8th House carries Uranus, quick, sudden and unexpected death conjunct Neptune who relates to hidden, concealed, the unseen. Neptune places a fog over the whole matter of her death. With Neptune conjunct Uranus, I personally doubt that there'll be any legal closure to her death.

[Marianne] Neptune is always active in death. It can hide things, yes, but I feel it will be revealed sooner or later.

Okay, I'd better get on to the transits and progressions before I get totally lost in the natal chart. However, how can you do a good reading if you don't become familiar with the person as a whole through their Natal chart~~? Humor me in this~~Tee Hee Very true!

As I said, I'm going to use some Fixed Stars and the Arabic Parts. The orbs will be tight between all aspects as you've taught me.

The Fixed Star Sheliak is at 18° Capricorn 53. This Star is associated with a violent death. And, Transiting Mercury Rx is 18° Capricorn 21. Mercury is the ruler of her chart. Mercury is Rx (How many times have we talked about this)? Taken in with the rest of her chart, I think that this may have a bearing on this date.

[Marianne] GREAT!

As you wrote in a lesson, Jupiter and Neptune are always involved in a death. So, Transit Moon is conjunct Natal Jupiter in the 3rd House and opposing Transit Neptune in the 9th House. To help this along Transit Jupiter is square her Progressed Eq. I couldn't find anywhere that Jupiter has a bearing on death.

[Marianne] Jupiter is always present in death as well as Neptune.

Her Progressed Ascendant is 7°Gemini 30 and opposing her Part of Peril by one minute! And, the Fixed Star~Hyades~ is 5° Gemini 45, (a wide orb) could possibly be taken into consideration with her Progressed Ascendant. Hyades is known to bring scandal, violence, and imprisonment to the client. In this case, JonBenet was violently murdered and imprisoned in her own home in the basement for several hours before being found by her father. Transit Pluto is at 4° Sag 12 opposing the Fixed Star~Hyades.

Pluto is always associated with death in one form or another, in this case, the actual death of the physical body through violence (Hyades). Transit Pluto (death, murder, rape) was also opposing Hyades. Goodness, I would think this would make the hair rise on any astrologer's neck!

[Marianne] I love it. You are really getting into the meat of the situation.

The Progressed Moon 5°Taurus 54 in the 12th House is conjunct the Fixed Star Hamal at 6° Taurus 16. Hamal can be associated with death/violence under distressing circumstances. Taurus rules strangulation, suffocation and the throat. Progressed Moon could be the timing of the incident, I would think. The 12th House is associated with secrets, karma, secret enemies.

[Marianne] EXCELLENT OBSERVATIONS!

The Moon represents our feelings, intuition, mother and women in general. Progressed Mars and Eq lined up in the 12th would surely create a lot of internal problems. The Natal Promise would be Moon squaring Mars. Her Progressed Moon is also inconjunct her Part of assassination.

[Marianne] The inconjunct would represent something like a promise in this situation, as it usually indicates a health problem.

Another Star is Scheat at 27° Pisces 59 and Transit Mars at 27° Virgo 26 in the 5th House (rules aunts, uncles, and stepbrothers) is opposing it. This Star is often times identified with Murder and Transit Mars rules assaults, assassinations, crimes and deaths of violence, male relatives and males in general, murder, rape~~tied up with Scheat it sure did not improve her chances of survival.

[Marianne] Excellent observation.

JonBenet's Transit Sun (vitality) at 5° Capricorn 22 (basement) was located in her 8th House of death conjunct Natal Uranus (sudden death) at 6°Capricorn 13, inconjunct her Progressed Ascendant in the 1st House, and trining her Progressed Moon.

Okay, the 1st Arabic Lot that I noticed was JonBenet's Progressed Ascendant is within 1 minute (as mentioned above) of her Part of Peril! This is indeed her most dangerous year.

[Marianne] Sure works like a charm doesn't it? But you did mean an Opposition, right? Her Part of Peril is 7°31' Saggie.

Transit Mercury Rx (9th House) in Capricorn is squaring her Part of Death (12th House) Mercury is Rx which would delay finding her body. Her body was found in the basement (Capricorn) hours after her murder (Part Of Death Mercury is also ruler of her chart. Transit Mercury is also making an applying conjunction to Natal Saturn, (Again, delay in finding the body) squaring Progressed Mars and opposing Natal Venus. Mercury rules strangulation.

Interesting enough~~Progressed Eq in the 12th is inconjunct JonBenet's Part of Father.

[Marianne]Excellent

and Progressed Mars is inconjunct her Part of Mother and trining her Progressed Sun. Some tension and strain between them, I would say.

[Marianne] I would definitely think so.

And, her Progressed Eq is making an applying inconjunct to her Part of Catastrophe.

[Marianne] Very good!

The Solar Eclipse on Oct 12, 1996 landed right on her 6th House cusp which would activate in opposition her 12th House cusp.

[Marianne] I would attribute the Eclipse to opposing her Part of Death at 17°04 Aries rather than counting the 12th House cusp. More on cusps at end.

And, her Transit Saturn and S.Node on the 26th of December was squaring her Anareta.

[Marianne] EXCELLENT

Her declinations, Marianne, was big time, a big whammy as you would say! The Transit Sun was parallel at -23 to Natal Uranus and, of course, Progressed Uranus, Transit Mercury Rx was parallel at -21 to Natal Saturn and Progressed Ascendant. Transit Venus the same as Transit Mercury, and Transit Mars was +3 in parallel to Progressed Mercury! Transit Jupiter was also parallel to Natal Saturn and Progressed Ascendant. Transit Saturn was parallel to Natal Pluto.

[Marianne] Hey gal, you are coming right along. I'm proud of you on the Declinations.

Okay, I did my best and worked hard on this chart. As I told you it fascinates me.

I'll be waiting anxiously for your report and comments, girl!!

[Marianne] Okay, now in an effort to be more efficient, check out the House Cusps for Fixed Stars. Wasat at 17°22 Cancer on the 3rd House Cusp, indicating someone in the neighborhood. This star relates to Saturn with malevolence and destruction. Connected with chemicals, poisons and gases.

Zosma at 10°12' Virgo on 5th House Cusp of the nature of Saturn and Venus. It causes benefit by disgrace, selfishness, egotism, immorality, meanness, melancholy, unhappiness of mind and fear of poison and gives an unreasonable, shameless and egotistical nature.

This star makes me think of Saturn (Dad) molesting Venus (JonBenet). I have had this impression all along and now see this star.

Armus 11°37 Aquarius on her MC - Of the nature of Mars and Mercury. It gives disagreeableness, comptemptibleness, instability, shamelessness, nagging and a troublesome and contentious nature. This is the house of the Mother.

Acubens at 12°31 conjunct 4th House. This is the house of the Father. Of the nature of Saturn and Mercury. It has been called "The sheltering or hiding place," and gives activity, malevolence and poison, making its natives liars and criminals.

It's absolutely amazing what these Fixed Stars relay.

PART OF PLACE OF MURDER - Also, if you figured the Part of Place of Murder it falls at 16°59 Virgo in her 5th house. Would this suggest a sibling? This is also known as the Death House of the Parents.

Just thought I would throw this in for future info. You are certainly learning quickly Elaine and I am very proud of you.
