These are just some of the members of the Vlachernai Garrison and there
little stories.
Members are advised to sumbit there own stories or someone will make
them up.
Nick (Norg)

Warwick (Kveldulf Griswold)
My name is Warwick Gill and I currently have the [dubious?] honour
ob being the Secretary of the Vlachernai Garrison. I am also the Editor
of the garrison's monthly newsletter - the "Ratatosk". My "Guard name"
is "Kveldulf Griswold". References to the original Kveldulf can be found
in "Egil's Saga". He was Egil's grandfather and his name means "Evening
Wolf" and for reasons found in the saga's narrative, there was talk that
he was a "Shape-Changer". Kveldulf lived in Norway sometime between the
middle of the 9th century and the late 10th century. He is believed to
have died on a voyage to Iceland. As a member of the Vlachernai Garrison,
my interests tend to be more craft than combat oriented. These include
weaving, wood-working and cookery, although I do try to take part in the
Archery Tournaments whenever possible. One of the items that I have built
is a copy of Viking style loom which is now the property of the Vlachernai
Garrison. If anyone is interested in building a similar loom, I can be
contacted via the Vlachernai Garrison postal address (P.O. Box 238, La
Trobe University, Victoria, Australia, 3086), through our web site or at
our weekly club meeting. All hail the Emperor!
Charlie (Mistress)
A real asset to the organisation with strong interests in the non-combatant
side of things, like food and costume making.
Stuart (Rune)
A recent return to the ranks, a sturdy warrior, another feared axeman
and an archer of not too.
Kristen (Loki)
Currently our Training Officer, Kristen is one of our more recent recruits
that have come to Vlachernai via Thessalonika. Kristen is brave and enthusiastic,
beware his far reaching two handed axe.
Andrew (Bjarki) 
Bjarki is one of the backbones of the garrison with many years of experience
in administration and combat. Bjarki's interestes are; archery, combat,
craft (especially in leather) and feasting.
Gaye (Olga)
One of the delights to behold in the garrison.
Andrew (Straff) 
Another recent recruit, Andrew was introduced to the guard by the Draper
brothers, played with the Dubh Linn garrison but never joined. Now he is
a member of the Vlachernai garrison much to the chargin of some members
of Thessalonika. Interests; Brazilian jujitsu, Combat, archer, feasting
and frolicking.
Stephen (Sven) 
Sven is a large chap whom has been a member of the New Varangian Guard
for a very long time (since 1984). Notable for winner many competitions
in archery, wrestling and woodwork. These days he is more than likely running
the archery tournaments than winning them. "Too much damn practice by
all these new bods has done it!" His current interests are; archery,
tents and webpages.
