The glh library goes open source

Back to glh main page

Open sourced on Friday, August 3, 2007
Previously, it was only released as freeware.
Now, it's LGPL.

Why?
So that more people would find it useful.
People will trust glh more and can read the source code.
Some people, although I don't expect it, will contribute code.

Also, it is nice that the ARB group decided on providing a SDK which can be found at
http://www.opengl.org/sdk
Of course, it is a collection of demoes and such from other sources, like nVidia, ATI and many other
contributors. GL is more community driven. DirectX has a huge company behind it and they do a pretty
good job with their SDK.
Well anyway, perhaps this can become part of the GL SDK and it can replace GLU entirely.
