Walking through the town on a moonless night like I had done many a time before, as the bitter coldness of the night just seemed to rush through my veins, and the wildlife out at this time, well they were like my cousins. Then turning left down an alley I was thrust down onto the icy ground. The figure appeared tall, dressed in dark clothes and held the shape of a man, as I looked up through my auburn hair now matted with blood from a gash to the side of my head. I remember trying to stand up yet my legs failed me, it felt like they were metaphysically chained down to the earth. The tall figure then bent down towards me and moved my hair aside then without a whisper he bit though my flesh yet drawing little blood as he himself was consuming the very essence of me. Then in what seemed like a decade later the angel of death visited me in my dreams of near un-consciousness, just before I feel a gaping wound being pushed between my lips, a new essence consuming me. His blood transfused with what was left of mine all while my body was screaming this isn’t right! Tightening, twisting, and ripping. He then moved away from me but not before whispering in my ear “you were always one of us, at heart”. A tear ran down my face from confusion, and fear. The chains fell apart at my ankles and once I had stood up I still had the rush in my veins from nights’ bitter coldness yet as I looked up to an owl on a near by tree it looked frightened and flew away… nature was no longer my cousin, as I was then their most detested predator.

The Awakening of a vampire is when a person finds out that they are a vampire.

Vampire Vocabulary
Black Swan- someone who loves the vampire community but does not feel a need to join.

White Swan- Someone who loves vampires, and accepts their ways.

Blood line- A family-like group of vampires.

Calmae- A vampire who is noticed for his or her expierence within that community.

Coven- A group of vampires, sometimes known as the circle.

Dhampyr- A vampire who is awakened on their own.

Dhampire- Someone who is born by a vampire and a human, they can also sense other vampires around them.

Donor- Someone willing to give some of their blood to a vampire to drink.

Elder- Mother/Father- The leader of a circle or a coven.

Fledgling- Someone who is new to the vampire life.

Mundane- Someone who knows little or nothing about the vampire community, they are not a vampire.

Porphyria- A disease with similar symptons to that of vampirism.
