The Object of My Affection | ||||
Captured Again You’ve captured me again. No letting up no letting go It’s my life that you control. You buckle my knees and I fall down And as my face hits the ground I know… You’ve broken me again Turned me all around. You’ve turned my world upside down. You draw me close and closer still And there’s no place to run And I know… You are my fears. You are my pain. You are my doubts. You are my shame. You are my gods I’ve set before Him. You are my thoughts That always ignore Him. You are my sin. |

Author's note: This poem was birthed by the daily struggle of becoming more like Christ. Sin is what takes our eyes off of what is really important, the God of Heaven. |
