If this is the first time you are running Movie Club Manager then use the UserName MANAGER and the Password WELCOME there after you would be presented with a change password screen. To ensure system integrity please change this password as soon as possible. (See Pages 4 & 5 and also section 4.5 page 49 of the user guide)
You have installed a pre-release version of Movie Club Manager version 3.0 which was used in testing the error generation, trapping and recovery processes. The final release version is 3.0.1 which you can download by clicking on the following link http://www.oocities.org/vmlink/mcm301.zip
If you live in an area with irregular power supply or frequent power failure then you need to connect your PC to a UPS. This protects Movie Club Manager from data corruption caused by power failure during a write/save operation.
In the unlikely event that your data becomes corrupted the system would prompt you to click the repair button and there after attempt to fix the database. You should also activate the repair function once in 3 months to optimize the tables and indexes used by Movie Club Manager.
The current version of Movie Club Manager (3.0.1) was designed to handle Tapes and VCDs. It may however be configured to handle DVDs. This is however discouraged as complications may occur. The next version currently being developed would incorporate special features and functions to handle DVDs.
The current version of Movie Club Manager (3.0.1) was designed to handle a single rate for all films on a particular media (Tapes and VCDs) while allow different rates based on media type. The next version currently being developed would incorporate a more flexible rental rate scheme allowing for the above and more complex rate schemes.
If you are registered user of the current release of Movie Club Manager (Version 3.0.1), you would be entitled to a major discount on the next release. Details of this discount has not been worked out yet however it would range from Free Upgrade to 50% discount on the sale price.
