Since the early 1930's, General Motors Holdens LTD of Australia ( GMH ) has been a  subsidiary company of GM U.S.A. During WW2 GMH had a peak workforce of 10,000, with plants in every state except Tasmania.
GMH built approx. 50,000 bodies for military vehicles during WW2 .
Other major projects included components for various aircraft and the manufacture of complete guns like the 2 and 6 pounder A/T, 25 pnder.
Just after WW2, GMH published a very detailed account of its WW2 production history , titled the ' WAR RECORD ' the book is just under 200 pages in length.
The book is very detailed and it provides an amazing account of the many and varied wartime projects undertaken by GMH . The list of items manufactured is too long to list here .
GMH did much work for the U.S. forces based in Australia , supplying marine launches , reconditioning vehicles e.g., Jeeps and many other types . Countless canvas items were made e.g., tents , stretchers .
The proof mark stamped on GMH built armaments during WW2 .
