more Mexico fun

(above) atop the "el pipila" statue in Guanajuato. A fabulous city... get more info here (below) On our way from Guanajuato back to San Miguel, our vehicle broke down. Many people came to help us and we finally ended up pushing the car back up into a parking garage using another van! haha, see, rednecks are everywhere.They've used a tire in between the bumpers for protection. haha, too funny!

Dancing (? who knows what I'm doing at this point) in a club called en Agua... my teacher usually went out to party with us, he's the Mexican in the red shirt here, Enrique. "The problem with Mexico is all the Mexicans" he used to say. I'm wondering how the hell I didn't fall off the couch I'm dancing on and bust my head on the glass table below me!

Atotonilco church (more good info here about it) Back in the day of Mexico's revolution, the priests and main players in the war against Spain used to meet here and plan strategy.

Here is a typical  street in San Miguel...cobblestone roads and row houses, most with beautiful wood doors....This man is selling peanuts and hot corn on the cob in his 5 gallon buckets. He takes the bus into town everyday from his farm and strolls up and down streets like this shouting in a melody like fashion "elote y cachuates" (corn and peanuts)

A good shot of the Paroquia, the gothic church that dominates San Miguels' scenery and is the main focus in el jardin. I got to see this magnificent structure every day.

a typical door knocker on a door of a middle class home. Many doors in Mexican homes are wooden and very ornamental since wood is scarcely used anymore.
