Rev.Richard A.Bradley
Rev.Richard A.Bradley (Joshua,Henry Bradley Jr.,Henry Bradley Sr.Francis Bradley).was born January 08,1802 in Sumner County,Tennessee,and died April 16,1859 in Jackson County,ill.He married Elizabeth Oliver October 14,1826 in Randolph County,illinois.

Notes for William Black Bill Bradley are..
He was known as "Black Bill" because of his dark skin,compared to other family members who were fair skinned and had light hair.This was reported by grandson-in-law Archie Williams who remembered "Black Bill"very well.Per records compiled by Elizabeth Elia Spurgeon,he was also known as "Judge".

Notes for Richard are....
Richard was in his mid teens when the family moved to Randolph County,ill.At age 22 Richard was a member of the survey party that finalized the disputed county line between Jackson and Randolph Counties.The Bradley`s found the majority of their land was now in Jackson County,ill.The Black Hawk war broke in the early 1830`s and Richard served as a Corporal in the 3rd Regiment,illinois volunteers commanded by Gabriel Jones.
    From 1838 to 1840 Richard served as a County Commisioner,and in 1842 he was elected a Representative to the illinois State Legislature.He served in this capacity until 1846 and then again from 1848-1852.During his first term in the State Legislature he Chaired the Elections Committee and presented the bill that moved the Jackson County seat to Murphysboro.In 1848 he Chaired the Committee on Public Buildings and Grounds and presented the Bill which reduced the fees of many County Officials and also presented the bill that chartered the Chester and Wabash Railroad.Richard joined the Looney Springs Baptist Church in 1850 and was ordained Minister in 1852.For many years he served as Pastor at Looney Springs,as well as at the Campbell Hill Baptist Church.Richard died on April 16,1859 and was buried in Looney Springs Cemetery,his wife Elizabeth died April 06,1888 and was buried beside Richard.                                  (See..Gordon Book link)
