| The definition of "Legacy" is a gift or Honor handed down. We, the Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club, gladly accept this gift of responsibility from our Viet Nam Vets Motorcycle Club Brothers, as they entrust us to carry on their principles, traditions and visions. Legacy Vets MC Brothers are either active-duty military or honorably discharged veterans who served after December 1975. We are the returning warriors from Beirut, Panama, El Salvador, Grenada, Somalia, Desert Storm, Bosnia, Kosova and what ever happened last week. We intend to follow the Viet Nam Veterans Motorcycle Club example in creating a better future for all veterans and their families. At the same time, we will assume increasing responsibilities of the expanding operations of our Motorcycle Club. All Legacy Vets MC Brothers are advocates and activists for veterans' rights and related issues. Our mission remains to do whatever is necessary to bring our POW/MIA Brothers home from ALL wars and to insist on full accountability from our elected officials. As advocates, we participate in motorcycle and community activities to draw public attention to the unique problems of all Veterans, especially Vietnam Veterans. The Legacy Vets MC and the Vietnam Vets MC continue to honor our solemn oath to protect the Constitution of the United States and the inalienable principles on which it is formulated. Our Brothers share a strict set of codes, ethics and values. We are not a criminal organization nor do we have any intention of becoming one. We do feel strongly about government infringement on personal liberties and civil rights, and will speak up and take action as appropriate. We do not get involved with the private business of other motorcycle clubs or their problems. We strive to respect the freedom of the wind and the road. MEMBERSHIP Becoming a member of the Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club and entering our unique Brotherhood takes a process. A select group of men will be invited to participate as a guest in Viet Nam Vets Motorcycle Club and Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club runs and events. Then they'll be ready to take the next step of Prospecting. The purpose of "Prospecting" periods is to enable the Club to get to know you and for you to get to know the Club. This ensures that you are totally aware of what you are getting involved in and that you are willing to support the Brotherhood. It also gives the Viet Nam Vets MC and Legacy Vets MC members a chance to see if you will represent our Brotherhood and Club in a respectful and dedicated manner. The Prospecting process is a time of the discovery for both the Brothers and the Prospect. A fully informed and prepared Prospect will become a valued Brother. Every Brother has prospected to earn the HONOR to wear the Club Patch. The Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club is a unique entity. We give 110% to the Viet Nam Vets Brotherhood and to each other. There are no "Prima-Donnas", egos or assholes. We are always there if called upon by Brothers nationwide.
