Japan 2000
I took a five day trip north from Kyoto, through the mountainous central region to the cities of Kanazawa and Takayama, and then continued up to the port of Wajima, at the tip of the Noto peninsula. Here is a map.
A drawing class in Kanazawa.
A rickshaw on Takayama's famous old street.
A mountain gasho home at the Takayama traditional village.
A family shrine at the mountain village.
The fishing port at Wajima.
The gorgeous eroded coastline of the Noto peninsula.
Some other random photos that I liked...

The most insanely expensive fruit in the world, especially the square watermelon in the center.
King crabs that cost $100 US each.
Feeding the wild deer near the Daibutsuden shrine in Naha.
Caligraphy signing at the Daibutsuden.
