Sung-A and Nick's Korean wedding ceremony
Their Korean wedding with Sung-A's family was held on March 28, 2006, at a traditional site in Seoul called Korea House.
Though the ceremony was conducted entirely in Korean, we still found it very interesting. The entire ceremony was read from the wooden fan he is holding, and there were many offerings and symbolic items.
Here, Sung-A is bowing to her parents.

The ceremony was held in a large outdoor courtyard, under a tent. Though it looks sunny, it was windy and about 40 degrees that day.
The traditional costumes were exquisite, but provided little protection from the weather. The happy parents endured the shivering for some photographs.
It is traditional to apply these large red dots to the bride's cheeks. I do not know if they have any significance beyond highlighting her beauty and youth.
After the ceremony was over, we went inside for a banquet. Nick and Sung-A changed into these beautiful outfits, which they purchased for the event. I hope to see them walking around Park Slope wearing them.
