Rural, rustic and secluded, there are minimal restrictions on building and lifestyle here. Yet, shopping and jobs are just 20 miles away and Albuquerque is 50 miles north.
On high prairies (relatively flat grasslands) at 5,000' we are near the Rio Grande and a major national wildlife preserve. Mountains that soar to 10,000' are just minutes to the east. We enjoy a mild year round climate here.
FRIENDLY, INDEPENDENT FOLKS...
Most of us are 40+, educated, single or coupled without children and very private. We come from everywhere... share a desire to live simply and peacefully on the earth... and came here to have life options not offered in mainstream society.
We are casual, flexible and spontaneous. We practice self-reliance, building and repairing our own homes and possessions and exchanging services with each other as friends and neighbors.
MEMBERSHIP...
We have no formal membership requirements, fees or constitution. The Village of Harmony is simply a shared philosophy... a place that lets you focus on what is important to YOU -- whether building, gardening, art or exploring the underlying meaning and connection between spirit and nature. You will know when you visit if it is right for you.
EASY TO JOIN...
If your desires match what we have to offer, a homestead is easily obtained. It can be a seasonal retreat or year round home, as you choose. As we said, we are flexible folks and will work with you to help you create the life you envision here.
