: What Does
"Save Yourself" Mean? This is
recorded here, “And with
many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves
from this untoward generation” (Acts 2:40). This doesn’t
mean that you can save yourself, in and of yourself, but he was exhorting
them to look to Christ for salvation or die. It’s like giving someone
an antidote for their life threatening illness and say “take this and
save yourself, don’t be hard headed.” He himself gave that antidote 2
verses above – “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of
Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift
of the Holy Ghost” (Acts 2:38). {Source: question only from GNC} |
