Bush Wins on Three Knockdown Rule 11/26/00 The Florida Legislature should adopt the "three knockdown rule" of boxing. In boxing, if an opponent is knocked down three times the match is over. That is exactly what happened to Al Gore tonight. Let me just say the special treatment this man has received just because he is VP is disgusting. He was knocked down in round one on the first count Bush won. Gore was knocked down in round two of the machine recount (by the way, Florida law reads "recount" not "recounts") which Bush won. In round three of the manual recount, Gore was just knocked down again. The boxing match is over. Get the smelling salts out. This guy is out of it. It is very important to note that even if Harris had included the manual recount of Palm county, Gore still did not have enough votes to win. Palm County should have worked like a dog on Thanksgiving Day to win, but they did not. I think they knew they would lose all along, so the real plan was and still is to use delay and stall tactics so Florida would have no electors to send at all. This way Gore would win based on the total electors he now has. What Gore didn’t count on was that the Constitution mandates that electors must be sent by the State Legislators. The ace in the hole for the Bush team is a Republican controlled State Legislature and Governor. Gore forgot the Legislature has a duty to appoint electors on December 12th, and they will. Gore also forgot the Supreme Court in Washington is also Republican . It is only a matter of time before the Championship belt is handed over. He has been knockdown three times and on Friday, Bush, through the U.S. Supreme Court, will knock him out for good! I can hear it now, "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. You’re out!" Please someone throw in the towel now for Gore and save him the historical embarrassment before it is too late. Even Duran knew when to say, "No Mas".
