Lazy Sunday Arvo
Two festival favourites, voicepopfoible and Dalriada have come together for a ‘Lazy Sunday arvo’ at the East Brunswick Club. Both bands ‘well loved for their dynamic live shows’, have traversed the national scene wooing audiences at festivals including Port Fairy, Woodford, The National, Fairbridge (W.A.), Adelaide and Melbourne Fringe and the famous Spiegeltent. Enjoy the cabaret tinged grooves, twisted acapella and instrument swapping mayhem of voicepopfoible and the infectious roots and groove driven pop/rock of Dalriada. Expect bread machines, brass and bagpipes as 2 of Australia’s premier live festival bands tag team sets for a Sunday arvo you won’t forget. Only 10 bucks! Doors open @ 2:00pm
10 Foibled Years
Was it really 10 years ago that the most unlikely foursome cobbled together 5 songs to enter the NAD Campus battle of the bands competition at Bendigo’s Golden Vine – and win?
Well, not entirely correct; the lads had drifted together after meeting at a men’s singing/drinking get together, but that show was the catalyst, the real public launch of the band with the cursed and ridiculous name. And it is back at the Golden Vine that the Foibles will celebrate 10 years of musical mayhem, pulling out all stops to entertain their faithful following and newcomers alike on 27th October in a dinner and show extravaganza.
Palm Creek goes off!
With their trombone weilding axeman Rex Sally bedridden, the foibles headed north again with new keyboard wizz and drum understudy Luke Warm. The Foibles were headline act at Palm Creek Folk Festival, just out of Townsville. With its beautiful waterfalls, stunning surrounds and rockin crowd, it was an ideal place to unleash Mr Warm's considerable arsenal of musical chops. Wearing his trademark aussie rules hotpants, Luke and the Foible 'oldboys' had the crowd eating out of their 'Mrs Palmers' as this email review attests........ What can I say? Brilliant, beautiful, gorgeous, foiblous, clever, witty; can I write your next promo? politically incorrect; delectable, melting brass......never -to-be-forgotten. Thank you, thank you, thank you for coming all the way to Nth Qld to entertain us all weekend.......Thought I knew why I left Melbourne all those years ago: now I'm not quite sure.
Woody Woodford
The Foibles finished 2006 with their debut Woodford festival appearance – snuggled into the line up amongst John Butler Trio, Lior, The Umbilical brothers, The Audreys and many many more, The Foibles made themselves at home in the twisted atmosphere of the Empire venue, the larger Club venue and a timely homecoming performance at their old haunt The Troubadour with the lovely, lovely, lovely ladies of Kaya. 
For the benefit of those who haven’t ‘done a Woodford’ it is a festival of sights, sounds, flavours, aromas, interviews, laughter, lightly clad beauties of both genders, and a bemusing spectacular fire ceremony with a story line that still makes us wonder what was in the vegie burgers.
Highlights included George Negus’s stint behind the stumps for The Herd’s cricket team in their lakeside epic match against the Woodford eleven – Tim Friedman’s passionately dark yet seasoned response to an angry heckler who claimed he rode the coat-tails of his deceased band members, and the Foibles own Dr Kevin Mancini’s impromptu enthusiastic performance at a nearby campground to the SE Queensland chapter of The Deaf 4WD association (they thought it sounded fucking great).

Yungaburra Folk Festival - what a treat! With laid back gigs, friendly and generous hosts and water every where.(the local farmers are complaining about only recieving 4 metres of rain this year!) Our Foibled Highlights:
The Foible's win 2006 National Folk Festival Inspired Queen competition
Each year, performers at the National Folk festival in Canberra are invited to perform an inspired cover version of a chosen artists repertoire. This year's competition attracted record crowds with over 5000 people packed into the Fitzroy Pavillion to watch bands including Jigzag, The Spooky Men's Chorale and Mal Webb perform their favourite Freddy Mercury songs and moves in the Inspired Queen competition final. Competition winners, The Foibles (right) performed a guitarless version of the 80's hit 'Break Free' fused with a hint of 'Under Pressure' and a dose of Vanilla Ice's dubious hit (or rather miss) 'Ice, Ice Baby.'
'Fresh Air' Tour #3 2006
March saw the The Foible's continue their love affair with the North coast of New South Wales and Queensland. Their second gig (left) at Brisbane's famed 'Judith Wright Centre' saw them support Scotlands 'Shooglenifty'. Their favourite gig however was an outdoor house concert attended by a couple of hundred fans high up in the Gold Coast hinterland. Many thanks to 'promoters' Nadia and Geoff.
