The Siamonfund is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1998 to help stray and abandoned/homeless animals. Our site is organized to offer a page to help you locate your own local, no-kill animal shelters and to let you donate to us through PayPal via internet, though we do sometimes fundraise locally to buy food and other necessities for "feral" pets and to donate to the shelters and organizations we believe need support, but not just one .. all of them. Our goal is to make the world a better place for animals to live in harmony with us.
Siamon's Story
The Siamonfund began when a stray cat named Siamon was abandoned in our neighborhood. The people who used to feed him had moved away and left the quite untame oriental cat behind. We had known about him for a couple of years and had watched him come and go from their porch door regularly. We wondered about him; where did he go when it snowed? Did anyone else care for him? We began feeding him just after they left. Following months of working at it, Siamon was at the point where he was touchable and would take my offerings from my hand. He played with sprigs of our catnip. Siamon hasn't been around as much as he used to years ago, but my experience with him started the Siamonfund, a small door-to-door fundraiser so that we could continue providing for him.
