I've been lusting after the M3 Sedan since I was in school. I had the poster with the reflection of the Coupe posted above my work area. My Jetta was becoming unreliable, so it was time to look for a new baby. I found this one on Ebay. Modifications had been done that I would have done myself, yet the car was $3K below bluebook so I flew out to Detroit and drove it back over a weekend. I can tell you that this car travels fast well. Iowa, Wyoming, and a couple of other flat states were covered at around 117 MPH yet it was so easy, not at all wearing on my body or pysch. There was only one complaint, and that was the leg bolster was a little firm, but I do have large legs so it was to be expected I guess. The previous owners added a Dinan exhaust, Dinan chip, Dinan carbon fibre intake, M5 look 18" wheels, alloy shift knob, and Indiglo guage face. I added the M3 Conv. lower stress bar and the clear turnsignals. As far as modifications I'm planning, I'm looking at the Bilstein PS9 coilover setup, maybe larger diameter swaybars, and Greenstuff pads, but really I'm not looking for a track setup. Given the number of times the rims have been bent, I'd like to keep the suspension able to handle the big bumps. HIDs are in the future too. I'll also be installing a sound system consisting of Eclipse or Alpine sources, PPI Amps, MB Quart QM 218S separates, JL Audio 12W7 sub, and Monster Cable interconnects.
