Fought with a proxied 2k list last night.

12 blood letters

Chariot of K 170 (believe it or not I forgot to field this chariot
entirely!)

His list
20 black orcs with BO general
20 orcs with spears with Battle standard bearer
30 Night Gob no fanatics
2 wolf chariots
1 unit of 12 wolf riders fully tooled up
1 unit of 6 wolf riders bows only

1 giant
30 man unit of cursed company (DOW)

deployment
both of us had our fastest things on the flanks On my left I had my
FH, chariot, ED, big unit of letters with a smaller unit as well.
Right flank I had my small unit of letters, crushers and unit of
flesh hounds. His left was wolf chariot, spear orcs black orcs,
small unit of riders. His center was the two bolt throwers. The
right was cursed company, night gobs, giant, big unit of wolves,
chariot.

First turn we both surged forward, in his portion of the first turn
he was able to attempt to charge with both cariots (18 inch charge
range) and one of the wolf riders. He failed fear tests on two out
of three but his remaining chariot cleared out the flesh hound unit
on my right flank.

Second turn my chariot was forced to charge his big unit of orcs
with spears. First round of combat did okay but in the second died
due a roll of 11 on my instability test. My blood crushers charged
his NG's who elected to flee and were run down. The small unit of
letters on the right charged his giant. By the end of the second
round
they had killed the giant but were flanked and losing to the

cursed company who had number ranks and standards. During his phase
his black orcs charged the small unit of letters my herald who was
deployed in that unit fought his general in a challenge and dealt
one wound. Overall the unit held despite a small loss for
ranks/outnumbering. His bolt throwers hit the general and luckily
only dealt one wound.

Third round was decisive

My big unit of letters flank charged
his black orc unit. My hounds

ignored his chariot to flank charge his unit of orcs with spears, my
general piled into the front of the spear unit as well. Well the
problem was his black orc unit failed it's panic check and was run
down, causing a panic check in the orcs with spears which was run
down. 800 VP's including the BSB and general VP's in one shot! In
the meantime his bolt throwers continued their pot shots at my ED.
Ward saves, poor BS continued to save him.

On the right byt then end of the turn the cursed company finished
off the unit of blood letters. The wolf spearman rear charged the
blood crushers and bounced off causing 1 wound and taking 3 in
return! However due to ranks, standard and outnumbering they won the
combat.

In the fourth my herald left the unit of letters to reach out and
crush one of the bolt throwers with his 12 inch charge range my left
flank rearranged to see off the remaining chariot and small unit of
wolf riders.

On the right flank his cursed company started moving back to the
center and the bloodcrushers beat the wolf riders and autobroke them
due to fear. His remaining chariot paniced and headed off

The fifth turn basically featured folks realligning and moving
towards each other. I cleared out the remaining chariot on the left
and the wolf riders using the ED and flesh hounds. His chariot on
the right rallied. Recognizing he was about to be charged he aligned
his cursed company facing the fleshounds in his deployment zone.

In the sixth turn despite some careful maneuvering on my opponents
part the big unit of blood letters was in charge range of the flank
of the cursed company. My herald, ED, fleshounds all charged him. My
ED ended up in a challenge with his cursed company hero who had
kiling blow and a 4+ wardsave. By the end of the first combat the
combat resolution was +16 for me vs +2 for him (standard and a wound
on my ED) We stopped playing at that point.

Overall I was very impressed with the play of this army. We played a
2K game in about 90 minutes (no magic no shooting on my part and no
rallying/psych tests etc to worry about on my end.)

Interestingly I learned that the offensive power of the khorne army
is very fragile as once a unit loses a combat their offensive power
is cut in half (at least for the letters and hounds) So the longer a
battle runs in some senses the weaker a khorne army gets (assuming
you lose at least some of the rounds of combat!)
As infantry units
are often designed to take a charge and keep punching I wonder about
switching just to MSU infantry and pushing up the fast components of
this list a la many folks slaanesh approach.

Also I was very happy with psychology this game. He failed no terror
checks but fear checks actually limited his army on several
occasions (I didn't detail all of them but some of those small fast
units of his that didn't seem to be doing much were often failing
fear checks on charges or on being charged.)

I received some good compliments on the appearance of the letters I
have done but obviously I have a lot left to paint for them!
