Wow, I had a great time! I was operating on 2 hours of sleep for day
1, which really hurt me, but otherwise I felt good about how things
went.

Game 1 - High Elves - Glenn Carr

High Elf infantry + Brettonian Cavalry = Dead elves

Glenn is a great guy and a good opponent, but it was a hugely bad
matchup for him. The wacky deployment hurt him badly. There really
needs to be the occasional scenario that favors slower infantry type
armies.

Result - Ghetto Stomp

Game 2 - Mike Grajeda - SoC Demons (Nurgle)

Unbreakable, Fear Causing, -1 to hit, +1 LD, Command Having, Battle
Standard Having Demons + Bretonnian Cavalry = Chicken hearted knights
afraid to charge Nurglings, and Errants that cannot hit
Plaguebearers, and lots and lots of auto-breaking.

What a miserable matchup for my knights. Mike is a fantastic player,
knows his army well (he actually played Nurgle demons before SoC) and
had about as balanced a list as you can make with the demon list.
Having never tried my hand against them, I did not adopt a good
strategy. I tried to run right at them, when I should have been more
patient and used my vastly superior movement to set up more favorable
charges. I learned alot from the match. On the plus side, a unit of
Yeomen and a unit of skirmishing Archers defeated and killed his
Exalted Demon general in combat

Result - Loss

Game 3 - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I can't believe it. It's like a self-fufilling prophecy. I
mentioned it before the tourney, Colin and I joked about it at lunch,
and sure enough, it happened. The worst part is that I always enjoy
playing Colin as we are as evenly matched as can be. This would be
great if I weren't playing for points.

Colin and I predicted that it would be a draw with 2 victory
conditions each.

Result - Draw with 2 victory conditions each

Game 4 - Mike Herzke - Dwarves

I got more sleep Saturday night, so I was feeling much better. I was
extremely bitter about having to face 2 opponents that I could not
(in my estimation) defeat. So, seeing Dwarves were my next opponent,
on a scenario that involved moving somewhere and getting a icon
thing, I figured that victory was assured. I was extremely
interested in winning this match, to make up for Saturday.

Of course, Dwarves are some seriously resilient sob's. I took the
idol on turn one. I charged 3 (!!!) units of knights into his 12 man
slayer unit (1 long line of 12). I figured I could kill them all
easily, and overrun into his other infantry. Well, about 40 attacks
later, there were 7 dead slayers. I know I made some noise akin to
Yosemite Sam at this point. I get charged by his Ironbreakers with a
BSB AND his Lord. Remarkably, due to several overkill wounds, I win
combat by 7. I felt like the win was at hand .... until Mike throws
down the 3. This meant that I was going to now get charged by
another unit of warriors in the front, and one in the flank, giving
him numerical superiority in the combat. I had my Oscar moment and
screamed at the top of my lungs.

The next turn, I get charged in the flank and front, and the combat
goes his way, but my Lord and his were locked in a challenge now, so
not a lot of wounds were made on either side. Thanks to the
Warbanner, I only lost combat by three. This meant however, that
each unit needed a re-rollable 6 to stay in combat. I had a flanking
unit of Men-at-Arms in charge range, so if all the knights stayed,
they could swing the battle back in my favor (by giving me full rank
and outnumber again). Somehow, my dice forgave me for whatever
unknown grievance they had, and I made all three checks. On my turn,
the MaA charged in, and I win combat by 5, forcing 3 re-rollable
checks at a 5. The Runesmith's luck had run out apparently, and all
three checks fail, and all units are run down.

It was a difficult and tense game, and I am sorry to say that I
became crazy obsessive competitive guy during the game. There were
alot of rules questions, but everything did get resolved. It seemed
that there were some hard feelings after the game on his end, but we
were able to talk about it after a few minutes of calming down and
everything came out great in the end. Mike, you were a great
opponent, and we will definitely have to have that rematch!

Result - Ghetto Stomp

Game 5 - Greg Buescher - Chaos

Ahh, a stand-up fight against another stand-up fight army. I have
played Greg before and knew this would be a fun, hard fought match.
It was.

The trebuchet (aka The Bane of Greg's Existance) dropped a rock right
on the head of his chariot-riding general. Dead chariot, dead
general. His Slaanesh spawn tore across the battlefield with
absolute alarming alacrity and managed to completely and utterly tie
up my entire flank, effectively blocking an entire unit of knights
from doing anything for 3 turns. Greg's other nemesis, Fast Cav,
baited his Khorne knights into a pursuit that left his flank exposed
to my Men-at-Arms (Peasant Power!) One unit of archers needed a 3 to
hold after a charge from Flesh Hounds - rolled it (which caused them
to ultimately be defeated by the same MaA that defeated the
Knights). My skirmishing archers needed a 4 to stay against a Spawn -
rolled it (which allowed some Errants to charge the spawn). VERY
good luck on my part here.

His Giant charged my Questing Knights with my Lord. "No problem" I
thought. With their great weapons and ward saves, I figured they
would see him off easily. Yell and Brawl. Failed break test (re-
rollable 7). Flee roll of 4. Tasty 700 VP, and one less victory
condition for me.

He attempted to bait me with his warhounds, which would have left me
to get charged by some Chosen Knights, flail-wielding Marauders, and
the Giant. Umm, no. I just let the Warhounds sit there, blocking
all his other units. In the meantime my Errants swept around the
flanks, and began to menace his slower troops. With his Giant out of
position after chasing my Questing Knights, I was able to get out of
the trap and pull off the victory.

Good game Greg! Sorry my Trebuchet has a thing for your Generals =p

Result - Victory

Thanks again Luke and Brian and everyone else who put time into
setting this thing up! I owe ya!
