I, Ethan Peredhil, file this report on behalf of my wounded Prince
Celeb-Lindar:

The three mages, and their guard had headed to the College of Bright
Magic, so we headed East to look for the Chaos force Teclis had
dreamed of.

The Reavers scouted well and had pinpointed the location of the
Northmen. We positioned our Archers and Bolt Throwers on a large
hill and deployed the Silver Helms, Sword Masters, White Lions and
Spear Elves to the south of them. One light unit of Silver Helms was
given the "task" of defending the Artillery. The Eagles and Reavers
were positioned on the far side of the battle field to try to flank
the enemy and attack from the rear. They had no war machines, so the
Eagles would be of most use harassing and slowing their advance -
against these frenzied warriors they would be sacrificed if they
engaged.

The battle started as planned. Our combat troops held the line,
working into position, but not advancing far. The Archers and
Artillery rained death down on the Chaos troops. Their Lord was a
Terrible sight to behold and his unit of knights tore across the
divide towards our lines. I attempted to intercept them, and get
between them and Celeb and his White Lions, but he ordered me back.
I could see what he hoped -- that the knights would charge the line
of Archers, they had their orders to flee. This might allow Celeb
and his Lions to charge the flank of the Knights and be perhaps the
best chance of destroying them. For the first time in our history
together, I doubted the orders of my commanding officer and my in-
action brought ruin. The Dark Lord and his knights did not charge
the Archers -- they charged Celeb and his Lions instead. Never
before have I witnessed such destruction and blood shed. In a matter
of minutes the Lions had been reduced to a handful. Only their un-
natural loyalty and devotion held them together in an effective
force. Celeb himself stood for a moment against the fury of these
dark riders, but even his ancient armor, a relic of the old ones,
could not protect him and he fell to the valley floor. In all of the
fray, only one Lion landed a blow on the knights and such was the
force of the great axe - that it cleaved the knight in two. I moved
my men around trying to get around the combat to charge into save
them, but it was too fast. The last of the Lions fell. Two full
units of Archers and both Bolt Thrower squads unleashed on the one
remaining knight and the black Lord. It was a hail that no creature
could survive. They didn't.

Our forces continued fighting grimly and silently, except for the
occasional command issued by captains and squad leaders. Like an
unstoppable machine we ground the chaos forces to dust. In the end,
the field was littered with the bodies of our enemy, but suprisingly
few elves were among the dead. Eleven White Lions, Nine Spear Elves,
a single Silver Helm and a pair of Sword Masters were all that were
not immediately ready to continue fighting. Of those, only six fell
to never rise again. Celeb had sacrificed himself and his guard, but
bought us a great victory!

Due in part to potent Elvish medicine and in part to his unearthly
armor, Celeb has survived -- although greatly weakened. We have
established a camp here at the outskirts of the human lands, to both
wait for the return of Teclis and allow Celeb a chance to recover.

The local humans have brought us food and trade, as well as tales of
Ratmen, Northern Marauders and Bandit-like Empire Princes that have
been plaguing this country. I have discussed this with Celeb, and as
soon as he is well enough to command the men, in case of attack, I
will lead a force out to investigate. We are certain that having the
gratitude of the locals could go a long way in securing our
position. This for the easy slaughter of Skaven or Barbarians -- a
small price indeed. In the meantime, we have established supply
lines to our ships and have no great urgency to relocate.
