CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT PREVIEW

After a sucessful Turkey Day Tournament, the VPBA has decided to have the first annual Christmas Tournament starting December 23. After a record crowd of 14 at the championship game of the Turkey Day Tournament, the VPBA is looking forward to even larger crowds, as well as a larger number of entries for the community. The field will be approximately 12-16 people, and while we're on the subject, let's review this year's competitors.

The bottom seeds of a tournament are normally looked upon as the "easy" games for the top ranked competitors. But, in the VPBA, this is not always true. New and improving player like Bryan Eaton and Jeff Anthony in the bottom half of the seedings may cause problems for those at the top.

Though the seedings for the tourney have not been released yet, you will surely see Dustin Kifer, Russ Traister, Mary Jane Eaton, Jason Kifer, and Jim Kifer in the top five. Dustin is coming off of his victory in the first annual Turkey Day Tournament Championship game, while Traister, a title game qualifier in the Turkey Day Tourney, will look to win his first VPBA title. Mary Jane Eaton will also be in the field, and will look to improve on a disappointing fifth place finish in the Turkey Day Tourney. Also, Jim Kifer and Jason Kifer will be two "underdogs" that could very easily come away with this year's title.

Check back around December 23 or 24 and get the latest results.
