Only Smiles, I Hope

When I look into your face
I’m whisked
to another, sightly place.

Beauty in your eyes
more than
the most spectacular skies.

When your lips turn to smiles
lifted I am
to untold, infinite miles.

So smile please only
I can’t take much else
death to me is being lonely.

For though I loathe tears
something tells me
they help conquer fears.

Fears of old, of years past
they haunt you, fight you
oh please, please don’t let last.

Smile for me, my sweet
it brightens my day
a red and beige unfathomable treat.

I do not wish to cause tears
hurt I would never
but my path is set and our choice nears.

Take my plunge, give me your hand
my world is inteprid, adventurous, a foreign land.

I do not want to part
I desire your smiles.
They give me strength and sustenance
miles and miles...
