| November 6, 2003 The O.C. weekly review --And you thought I wouldn’t write a review this week...hahaha. I’ll be honest, Fox has had a string of hit O.C. episodes and I was anticipating this one to be the mulligan of the bunch. I mean they can’t keep this emotionally frenetic pace up can they? Fortunately I the answer is a resounding “yes”. Somehow those writers over at quirky Fox have managed to pump out yet another engaging episode. Will any of these shows ever suck? I hope not, but TV history is not on The O.C.’s side. Prove’m wrong Fox. I watched this week’s episode with my brother. It was fun because he saw how much of a dork I was watching it. But I think he’s hooked too. I tell you, watch just two consecutive episodes and you’re hooked; hook, line, and sinker. 11/5/03 show K let’s talk about the show. There were three main plotlines going on this one, the first being the usual; Ryan and Marissa and their blossoming relationship. The second is the love triangle Seth has got himself into. And the third was the troublesome times the Sandy and Kristen are going through due to a conflicting case. This episode was the first week the kids started their senior year in high school. Of course all the F-PAB girls were making fun of Marissa and her summer exploits so I felt bad for her. I thought it was cool Ryan try out for the soccer team. Although I was a little afraid the show would totally slaughter the whole “soccer” part but they did a pretty good job. For a prep school high school team I can see them wearing those practice jerseys. The action was pretty cool and I loved it when Ryan bladed Luke...classic The O.C. The only thing cheesy was the totally ignorant coach. He obviously thought soccer was some sort of American-football side project. So what’s up with Seth and these chicks? I felt terrible for Anna at the end of the show when she kissed him though. Her heart was broken. But she took a big risk by pulling “the moves” on Seth. You throw your heart around with boys and a couple of em are bound to not catch it girl. Live and learn. Although Anna is growing on me. I think she’s pretty hot with that short blond hair, the cool way she wears her makeup, her sexy demenor and looks, and just her cool personality. And what’s up with the whole Sandy vs. Kristen litigation thing? I think Kristen is in the wrong here. She’s just in it for the career aspect. Sandy is fighting for a good cause although it could be construed at animosity towards Kristen’s father. Interesting to see how this affects the marriage despite their little reconciliation at the end of the show. And what’s up with all the girls making the first “moves”? Am I missing something here? Ryan Good job on blading Luke at soccer practice. Although Ryan got a little testy with Marissa when they had their little “arguement”. It’s the first time I think Ryan’s been in the wrong. Marissa didn’t lie to him as he insinuated. You gotta be careful with girls that have recently got their emotions tossed around like Hurricane Andrew. I thought the ferris wheel scene at the end was nice. But again, these girls are pretty bold you know. And come on, are first kisses really that juicy? Marissa She had a tough episode with going back to school and all. Huge kudos for Marissa though for not getting back together with PAB extraordinaire Luke. For a second there I thought she would succumb to her immature insecurity, but she stood tough. Good job Marissa! But whoa, do you kiss all your guys like that? I’m starting to think Marissa may be a little to fast for me. Seth Um Seth went from cool nerd to cool nerd stuck in a love triangle. Wow dude, I envy your position. You got two hot girls after you now. That’s almost as cool as beating M Bison two rounds straight both perfects in Street Fighter Alpha 3! I find it hard to believe though that Seth doesn’t see Anna has the hots for him. The end there was sad though and it stinks Seth got stuck in the middle because he is a nice guy and I don’t think wants to hurt either girl. Summer Hmmm, she just mostly looked hot and pouted this episode. Luke HAHAHA. He got what he deserved from Marissa and I hope she never takes him back or shows in the time of day. Ryan didn’t punch him this episode but he did give him a mean slide tackle from behind which is the next best thing. Us anti-PABs will take what we can get. I gotta say though, Luke looked like he had some soccer skills. Sandy Stay away from Racheal, the evil seductress. Kiss you wife more and tell her how beautiful she is. Kristen Don’t let your career destroy your marriage. There’s more important things in life than cell phones and checks. Jimmy Kudos on giving Luke the boot Jimmy!!! I knew you had it in you to be a good dad. Julie No show, but that’s a good thing. Conclusions/Preview: |
