| February 17, 2004 Happy Anniversary Random Thoughts! --I wonder if anyone else noticed while I was gone that my Random Thoughts section celebrated its 1st Birthday on February 12, 2004. I look back on this year and I think of a couple things that happened that really affected me. Things like my continual journey in discovering and learning truth alongside my Savoir, God, and best friend JC,. Things like my wonderful friendship with my friend Marit. She is not only one of the coolest girls I’ve ever met, but she has more sweetness and pure kindness in her pinky than most girls I’ve met combined. Also things like cars; Polaris, upgarding Rikku, and my new (well old) BMW M3. Things like my awesome summer vacation. Things like my future career aspirations and creative motivations. I feel Random Thoughts has been a collection of just that, random thoughts. Yeah sure, a couple pieces were written out of pre-conceived notions, but most of them are just products of my everyday life and what I see concerning life, love, and why. I hope you’ve enjoyed my thoughts. Sure they may be really polarized, but hey, that’s me, that’s Ebb, that’s Keith. My thoughts are my identity. And I hope Random Thoughts has been that, an expression of individuality; of intellectual, emotional, and spiritual induviduality. I love New Hampshire’s license plate, and also state motto (more info here) written by General John Stark on July 31, 1809, because written on it is the phrase “Live free or die.” A blunt statement to say the least but that’s life, or lack thereof, in a nutshell. And though it carries physical connotation I think the crux is that you’re living dead if you’re not living intellectually, emotionally, or spiritually free. And so I hope my random thoughts speak of my life of intellectual, emotional, and spiritual freedom whether or not I’m physically free. I feel from that perspective good ideas permeate and goodwill propagates. It’s through slavery, domination, superiority, egotism, and hierarchy that atrocities both physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual occur. Anyways, whether you love or hate, agree or disagree, you can’t charge me of not speaking my mind and heart, and that’s deserves some props don’t it, no matter your side. So let’s toast one up for Random Thought’s first year! And let’s wish for many more. It’s been a year of highs, of lows, and of heavenly blows... |
