| April 2, 2004 Police: Evidence doesn’t support abduction claim Search for suspect dropped (CNN.com article) -Don’t know if you’ve been following this case, and I could care less about it, but the ideology behind it is what intrigues me and how gullible we are sometimes as humans. Based on the evidence, or lack thereof, the police force and associated investigative agencies decided to drop the case claiming the abducted girl’s explanation didn’t fit with the reality of the circumstantial and physical evidence. Basically what it boils down to is that she is a scam artist and set the whole thing up. I hope they lock her up for a couple years considering probably the millions of dollars she wasted in taxpayers’ money for the search and investigations so she could have her 10 seconds of fame But just think of how many people in this world believe people’s claims sight unseen, blindly, and without and evidence in any shape or form in general. On the opposite side of the spectrum, people believe blindly despite evidence to the contrary of the person’s allegations or testimony! This case merely exonerates the Madison, Wisconsin Police Department from that category of blind believers. Sure this girl may be a honor student, harmless looking, and a good person, but in light of the evidence discovered, and lack thereof (basically putting her story and allegations to the test of academic and forensic scrutiny), her story was exposed for the lie that it was. Boo on her and her desperate effort for attention. I guess this case is a learning lesson for all of us. Don’t believe what you hear unless that person can reasonably or empiracally prove their allegations or claims. And because the “heart of man is evil”, don’t give anyone the benefit of the doubt in thinking they’re telling the truth. The burden of proof is on the claimer and if they don’t like that or aren't willing to have their claims put to the test, well then you know for sure they’re lying. peace, -ebb "Test all things.
