Prosecutor: Cult leader coerced children to have sex with him

BRUNSWICK, Georgia (AP) -- The leader of a quasi-religious cult accused of molesting young followers was a vicious manipulator who coerced children into having sex with him and rewarded them with jewelry and candy, a prosecutor said Tuesday. But the defense said the government was oppressing a peaceful group...

Hmmm, where have I seen this guy before...

-had sex with many emotionally defenseless girls, mostly young teen girls (even younger) and justified his
PAB sin by saying God ordained it.....riiiight (all Dr. Evil-like)...

-set himself up as a
“messiah-like figure”, a “prophet” to his followers

-"
They were taught that he was the supreme authority ... he was a god," she said. "The man who they thought was a father, a god, violated them sexually when they were very young." hmmm...I’ve heard claims like that before...

-they claimed to be a
“peaceful” group that was just unjustly harassed by an apostate government seemingly only to destroy them......riiight....

-he has a small group of followers and lives in an isolated compound, estranged from the “evil” world.

-
York's attorney, Adrian Patrick, said the case was about government oppression. He compared York's prosecution to Germany's oppression of the Jews and the British rule of colonial America.   hmmm....where have I heard this smokescreen before....a common way for us damned humans to deflect responsibility of our sin by claiming we’re the victim and that God (or the Devil) told us to do it...

-
York has unsuccessfully argued he has American Indian heritage and should not be judged by the U.S. court system.   those poor Native Americans....ignorant caucasian people always trying to tell them about a history they never had.

Well a few names jump out at me for some reason...
Marshall Applewhite, Jim Jones, Arnold Murray, Dr. John Thomas, Joseph Smith, Sun Myung Moon, Kip McKean, C.T. Russell, David Koresh, Muhammad, Mary Baker Eddy, Felix Manalo, Dwight York, etc...the list goes on and on and on...the funny thing is that I can’t imagine they all didn’t come from like the same town cause they all seem to come up with the same ideas...weird how cult history just repeats itself over and over and over again...weird stuff.  I wonder when the next one will pop up with his or her “revelation”...it’s only a matter of time (funny thing to note is that most cults totally bash Catholicism and their apparent “apostate” beliefs.  I’m not condoning all Catholic doctrines, but I think these cults are just jealous that the Catholic Church has like 10 billion more members than them...so they bash em...and bash em good.)

    ...different faces, same story...
no humility, no falling on their knees in front of a Holy God in light of their sin, no surrender to grace, no accurate history, plenty of stories, no individuals, plenty of drones....no personal Jesus, no Heaven, plenty of Hell... no unconditional love...no real love...

...sigh...my sin put three nails into my savoir...
my sin...my sin...my sin....

“Paul, an apostle--sent not from men nor by man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead-- and all the brothers with me,
To the churches in Galatia:
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

No Other Gospel

I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel-- which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!”

-Galatians 1:1-9 (written circa 60AD)
