Sex requires no skill

-Have you ever met anyone that can’t have sex? (aside from medical issues beyond their control)  Have you ever met anyone that can’t hit a 100mph fastball?  Have you ever met anyone that can’t throw a perfect spiral 50 yards into a barrel?  Have you ever met anyone that can’t do a triple Lutz on ice skates?
The answer to the first question is no.  The answer to the next three questions is yes.
What’s point are you trying to make here Keith? My point is, engaging in sexual activity requires no skill.  Its kinetic mechanism is purely instinctual and everyone has that same instinct.  A virgin’s first sexual experience is neither “good” nor “bad”, it is just “sex”.  A virgin has no prior experience to compare to. Now if you have prior experiences to compare to then yes, the quality of sex thereafter will either be better or worse theoretically.
To put into perspective let’s take the example of throwing the football.  Your first throw will undoubtedly suck.  Not only will you not throw a spiral, you’ll miss the barrel, unless you are insanely lucky.  The target will be missed though.  But because sex requires no skill, your first experience will undoubtedly be successful.  You will successfully engage in intercourse and most likely experience indescribable pleasure in the process.  This is true for every person.  Whereas the football throwing contest will vary from person to person because of our different athletic abilities, some will be more successful than others.  This is not the case for sex.

Why I write these observations is because many people have the false idea that sex is some sort of skill based activity and therefore engaging in it, regardless of relational status, is a beneficial and respectable thing to do.  False.  Sex is as rudimentary as going to bathroom or digesting food.  You might be offended by my marginalization of the act, but let’s be honest, from a purely physical and skill level aspect, it is just animal instinct.  No one is better or worse at intercoursing with someone else than anyone else.  Some people are better at throwing footballs or hitting fastballs than others.  The only quantitative and qualitative features that exist in sexual activity are emotional and spiritual ones, which is a whole other story.
