God bless America?
-I’ve see a lot of “God Bless America” bumper stickers lately and our President also likes to use it a lot at the end of his speeches. I thought I’d put together a list of reasons why God should bless America. Let’s see here...
• America completely raped the Native Americans from the land that they laid claim to first and occupied for tens of thousands of years. They also screwed them politically and treated their ethnicity as crap for hundreds of years.
• For almost a hundred years after its inception, slavery of human beings was considered acceptable socially and legislatively in the U.S.A.
• For almost two hundred years, women were not allowed to vote because they were thought of incapable of making serious intellectual decisions such as that.
• For almost two hundred years, blacks were not allowed the same basic civil rights as whites because they were seen as an inferior race.
• In the 1970’s America’s judicial system decided prayer in public schools was considered harmful to society and that giving a woman the legal right to have her baby murdered was helpful to society.
• Today, the majority of Americans believe nothing to be morally wrong with alternate sexual orientations and that social ethics is all relative.
• Billion dollar American corporations are being led by corrupt and selfish officials, most of who haven’t been caught.
Hmmmm.....God bless America eh? Would you bless a nation that’s done these things? Looks like America deserves God’s damnation, not his blessing, me included. How bout realizing that America started off with good intentions, but its processes have been really messed up? How bout instead of shouting for God’s blessing we should be on our knees crying out for his mercy and thanking him endlessly for staying his wrathful hand so far. That guy up there makes no sense. We should’ve been wiped out long ago. Apparently his grace rocks the cosmos.
