| There was a boy a time ago that at a young age experienced many spiritual encounters with God. This pious boy grew into a great man, full of God’s wisdom bestowed upon him. Many people were attracted to his ways and the gospel that he was preaching, that he was given from God. He attracted many followers and began preaching the gospel to more and more each day, his followers growing in number. He had many visions from God and during one appearance from a heavenly angel, he was told to translate a great book so his followers could know the truth. He did this willingly and continued to lead those that sought peace. He was revered as a great prophet from God leading the people to the true salvation. But there were those that did not agree with him and his ways; the ways that God had enlightened him of. His followers and he suffered much persecution from their fellow man and from the government that ruled over them. But God would deliver them he believed, and he did. They moved their ministry to a safer place and this prophet continued to do the work that God had called him to. A time came when the persecution overflowed though and the great movement came under much scrutiny. The great prophet was pursued by the law enforcement. Then came a day when the enemy, the apostate enemy, attacked. This great man was martyred for his service to God and many of his followers weaped. Yet the ministry continued and dispersed to many lands and states. With the book that the great prophet had introduced to them, they could continue his great work. The ministry grew and followers were added daily. Statistics say even that the movement would reach upwards of 10,000,000 followers in only 150 years. Who was this great prophet of God? David Koresh was killed on April 19, 1993, dying from a gunshot wound to the head; ending a 51-day siege by the FBI and other law enforcement agencies on his religious compound in Waco, Texas. By the end of that shocking day, 80 followers (Branch-Davidians) of David Koresh were found dead, 23 of them children under 17. Koresh had fathered 14 of them through several wives and fornicated relations. Many of the victims had died from gunshot wounds and one child had been stabbed to death. Vernon Howell (aka David Koresh) claimed to be an incarnation of Christ, a messenger of an apocalypse to come, an avid scholar of the Bible, and the author the “Seven Seals” holy book (another testimony of Jesus Christ) which he claimed to be comparable to the Bible. David Koresh also abused many children, was an active polygamist, and owned illegal weapons; all actions he claimed commanded by God. His legacy today continues to attract converts worldwide... as the story grows... “At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.” Matthew 24:10-11 “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1 *Now you know why I stand where I do, and why I'm saddened so much knowing where you stand...I'm afraid for you... |
