BACK TO MEL’S PLACE

EACH DAY

I promise myself that I'll:

·         check in with my children if only to say I love you...

·         find even some SMALL way to brighten someone else's day...

·         collect all the wonderful bits of wisdom my friends send to me and record them ALL

on a tape for my grandchildren (and PRAY that they'll one day listen to it and it will

make them better people)...

·         smile at as many people as I can, whether I know them or not...

·         find something positive in what I perceive as even my 'worst' day...

·         not forget to thank the Great Spirit for EACH and EVERY wondrous blessing He has

bestowed upon me...

·        and I'll HOPE and pray that I remember to keep ALL of my promises to myself, for in

doing so, perhaps the  world will become a little bit more loving place...

One promise at a time!

Oh yes, and I'll forgive myself even when I don't keep ALL of my promises to myself

EACH DAY because we're each only human!

Brother Crow sits high in the radio tower
On a misty, late summer morning.

The sky is blue and pink
The air is crisp and sweet.

From his vantage point, Brother Crow
Caws his early morning greeting and sends a reminder.

He sends a reminder to those who will listen
and heed his call.

His message?
Observe all of the circle of life around you.

Rejoice in the coming of the new day.
Take in the beauty of the sky and the trees and all that is around you.

Rejoice in the life and love you are given
Then send it out in all directions seven-fold.

The River of Friendship

Some friends come; some friends go.
Currents of life like a river flow.

Some are driftwood, who just float on by;
Others are rocks upon whom we rely.

Some remain only where calm waters dwell;
Others remain tho' the rapids may swell.

Some may run dry in the heat of a drought;
Some remain fluid with ne'er a doubt.

My river of life has seen good friends too few,
And each day I thank it for bringing me you!

Company of Friends

Come out of the fog, my dear, old friend.
Please sit by my fire a while.
The night is long and cold and dark,
And I know you've walked many a mile.

Come in from the rain and cold and wind
Oh let me, once more, see your smile.
Your friendship has saved me from many a fate,
Show, once more, that magnificent style.

We're always together, though far apart,
Ever here, in my heart, dearest friend.
No tempest or darkness, without or within,
Will ever our bond of love rend.

Life can be harsh and laden with scars,
Which only true friendship can mend.
Come out of the fog, come into the light
Of true friendship, which nothing will end.
