Standing between the line of storms (white) and the cell to its south (dark) on the TX/NM border about halfway between Clovis and Hobbs. Yes, it is crooked, I am looking E .
These three were taken along FM 1585 on my way back from the NM border.
In Brownfield, just South where FM 1585 and Hwy 385 intersect.
Hwy 380, right around Tokio. This was a beautiful sunset viewing the sothern most end of the line of storms from under the backsheared anvil of the isolated cell. I attempted to drive back to Brownfield, but not only was there a large wall cloud in front of me (poor lighting on the image. I will post it later if I can fix it), but the downdraft wind from the storm was easily 70-90 mph. My car was nearly blown off the road at a complete stop. When I encountered these winds coupled with heavy rain and lots of dust - creating mud on my windshield - I decided I had better head back west towards Plains.

After the sun has gone down...

Lightning under the backsheared anvil.
