Mid-January 2007 Icestorm


In mid-January 2007, Oklahoma received one of the more significant icestorms in state history. While central Oklahoma was spared the heaviest ice accumulations, significant amounts of ice did nevertheless accumulate. Here are a few pictures from this memorable icestorm.


Yes, people plant flowers outside (mostly pansies) down here even in the winter--these did not do so well.

Icy sidewalk I walk and bike on. After this storm, all the snow developed a strong ice layer on top which was incredibly slippery.
