Affirmative Action: "To me it is wrong to give people a job because of their race, their ethnicity, their gender, etc..to me everyone is equal and gets an equal deal. Giving people a job because of their race and ethnicity and such is unfair to those of you that are extremely hard-workers and are generally more qualified than anyone you've lost a job to because of affirmative action. However there is a group of people I'd like to give a hand to. The mentally and physically disabled (permantly, paralyzed, deaf, blind). These people could never get jobs if they had the same deal as everyone else, but needless to say Affirmative Action leaves these people out. It's time to remove all race, gender, ethnicity and things of this nature out of federal quotas completely and replace them witjh quotes for cripples and the mentally challenged. It's time we help the people that are truley discriminated against.
--Balancing the Budget--
"My plan for balancing the budget is a two step process. The first step is to eliminate the national debt as quickly as possible.
This is followed by the second step, which is to create a "Balanced Budget Amendment" in order to prevent the country from being
in debt as in the past. Under Republican control, America has always managed to fall into debt. Now it's worse than ever. However
Bush and Kerry's plan for the deficet is the same. This meaning that by 2008 we will be seventeen trillion dollars or more in
debt. Only a firm Centrist plan can save the country from a bleeding economy. Once we have fixed the economy, we can focus on
giving people the luxuries they want and deserve. Lower Taxes, less inflation, better jobs, and less unemployment are all possible
under my plan for the budget. If i get a chance to put my plan into action, The country will undergo a revolution, a revolution of
prosperity."
--Environment--
"The environment is one of the most important issues the country faces heading into 2005. The environment is in grave danger due
to companies such as Shell, Exxon, and many others. I say we began serious research on Solar and Hydrogen-based energy. This
would save you, the people, money and stress. Also ridding us the horror of rising gas prices and a large amount of pollution. I
also beleive that a good environmental policy reflects a good economical policy. By switching energy companies to those that
develope energy for military weapons, eliminates the risk of putting millions of people out of work due to renewable energy.
Eliminating gas prices from your weekly bill, you'll definatly agree that focusing on the enviroment would indeed help the
economy. The environment is in as much trouble as the economy. It's time to stop ignoring it."
--Illegal Immigration--
"Illegal immigrants are commiting a crime, plain and simple. So to just grant them amnesty and allow them a free citizenship is wrong and also a crime in my book. I have nothing against legal immigration. I encourage immigration and gladly welcome any foriegners that want to legally become part of our great nation. Our nation depends on this population in our elections, and in our work force. However, immigration laws must be obeyed. It is time we start deporting illegal immigrants and strictly enforcing immigration laws before this problem becomes more wide spread than it already is. In states like California, the illegal immigration is causing many problems to the economy of the local citizens. I don't see a reason why foriegners shouldn't be forced to follow the laws and become a legal citizen. Like I said, illegal immigrants are commiting a crime, and standing by doing nothing is an even bigger crime."
--International Corporations--
"American businesses that flee to other countries for cheaper labor are wrong and unjustified. However, I'm a strong believer in
corporate rights. Corporations changing countries, thus inspiring lay-offs are not right in doing it. So here is my plan, to
increase business tax depending on location. I say businesses that leave the country have to pay more business tax than those that
stay in America. I also suggest an intial tax to leave the country is necessary. Jobs are being lost, not because of a lack of
skill or efficiency, but corporate greed. Greed in itself is morally unjustified, let alone having it affect millions of innocent
hard-working people. So though it wouldn't be fair to enforce the companies not to leave the country, I would make sure that if
they were going to leave, they will first pay a decent sum of money. This money will be used to fund homeless shelters and public
education. On another note, what international corporations do to the other country's enviroment is appauling. Usually it is
against popular sovereignty of the country, but they simply do what they please, because we are American. This example is one of
many that contributes to the Middle East disliking us as a country."
